One Pushy Lab

May 13, 2018 By Jodi

About a month ago, Hubby and I went shopping for new furniture. The goal was for me to get a lounger where one of the dogs could sit with me.

That was the goal.

What we ended up with, was two large, comfy recliners.

You see, Delilah thinks she’s a lap dog, and she loves to lie on the Dog Dad.

When she’s ready to cuddle with the Dog Dad, she makes her intent well-known, and there’s no denying her. In fact, there have been a couple of times where she’s actually pushed Hubby into his chair so she can climb in his lap.

Pushy? This doesn’t look push at all.

It makes me laugh, because she is definitely, one pushy lab.

You make me laugh or smile. The sweet, funny, loving things my dogs do that brings a smile to my face, or a laugh to my lips.

Happy Mother’s Day to all the Moms out there. Whether your baby has feet, fur, feathers, fins or skin, we hope your day is filled with beauty and love.

Golden rays guide my feet to the place that feeds my soul.

The Bestest Dog

April 29, 2018 By Jodi

A few months back, I found out about a Fairy/Gnome walk about two hours from my house. I told my seven-year-old granddaughter about it and we made plans to go.

The walk is a two-day event, and we had planned to go yesterday. Since it was a two hour drive, I wanted to get an early start, so my granddaughter slept over on Friday night.

Sampson turns into such a watch dog when either of the grandkids sleeps over. He insists on sleeping in the room with them, and since J was sleeping in my bed with me, he immediately climbed up on the bed, where he stayed all night long.

We’ve finally had a turn of spring like weather and it got quite warm in the bed, with three of us there. I woke up about 3:00 am, to Sampson panting, and even with all that, he spent the entire night on the bed, walking J up with a healthy tail wag, and some morning kisses.

Sometimes when both kids are here, it can get a little loud (and crazy), and it often times stresses Sampson out a little bit, but when just one child sleeps over, the way he protects them, just fills my heart.

And I can’t look at this picture, and not smile. He tucked himself right at her feet and stayed there all night long. When I told her that in the morning, and showed her the photo, she said, “He’s the bestest dog ever.”

You make me smile (or laugh,) the sweet, funny, loving things my dogs do, that brings a smile to my face, or a laugh to my lips.

What did your pet do that made you laugh or smile this week?

**The Fairy/Gnome Discovery walk is still happening today (April 29th), if you happen to be in the Salisbury, MA area, you can check it out at Pettingill Farm.  Link HERE.

The Look of Love

April 8, 2018 By Jodi

Easter Sunday, my niece, grandson, Sampson and I set out for our afternoon walk. We had just crossed the street, when I realized….oops, no poop bags. I handed Sampson’s leash off to my niece, and started towards home.  Sampson does not like taking a walk without me, so when I turned around, he did too. I told him I’d be right back, and jogged towards home.

I went as fast as I could, and was surprised when I got back out, that they had moved quite a ways up the road.

Puff, puff, gasp, I headed up the hill, hustling as fast as I could.

Finally, I was within hailing distance.

Sampson had his back to me, but as I approached them, he turned around.

When he realized it was me, he got this look on his face, that was pure love. He smiled, and then he started running toward me, with a little jump in his step that happens when the weather is crisp and cold, when it snows, when he’s happy.

It brought such a smile to my face, that spread to my eyes, where it leaked out

You make me smile or laugh, the sweet, funny, loving things my dogs do that bring a smile to my face, or a laugh to my lips.

What did your pet do that made you smile this week?

POST UPDATE: Do you remember WTF Wednesday, The People in My Neighborhood? I asked you all to guess what the DADO said to me after I told him his dog had gotten out of his fence, and attacked my dog.

I feel kind of bad, because none of you guessed what he actually said.

So are you ready?

I said, “Yes, came right out of the fence and attacked my dog.”

And he said, “Thank you.”

You can’t make this shit up.
