The Look of Love

April 8, 2018 By Jodi

Easter Sunday, my niece, grandson, Sampson and I set out for our afternoon walk. We had just crossed the street, when I realized….oops, no poop bags. I handed Sampson’s leash off to my niece, and started towards home.  Sampson does not like taking a walk without me, so when I turned around, he did too. I told him I’d be right back, and jogged towards home.

I went as fast as I could, and was surprised when I got back out, that they had moved quite a ways up the road.

Puff, puff, gasp, I headed up the hill, hustling as fast as I could.

Finally, I was within hailing distance.

Sampson had his back to me, but as I approached them, he turned around.

When he realized it was me, he got this look on his face, that was pure love. He smiled, and then he started running toward me, with a little jump in his step that happens when the weather is crisp and cold, when it snows, when he’s happy.

It brought such a smile to my face, that spread to my eyes, where it leaked out

You make me smile or laugh, the sweet, funny, loving things my dogs do that bring a smile to my face, or a laugh to my lips.

What did your pet do that made you smile this week?

POST UPDATE: Do you remember WTF Wednesday, The People in My Neighborhood? I asked you all to guess what the DADO said to me after I told him his dog had gotten out of his fence, and attacked my dog.

I feel kind of bad, because none of you guessed what he actually said.

So are you ready?

I said, “Yes, came right out of the fence and attacked my dog.”

And he said, “Thank you.”

You can’t make this shit up.

Omfg! Thank you??? Wtf is up with that? I have no words. How did he even expect you to react to that?
Sampson’s a gorgeous boy. When i come home I am lucky to get a tail wag. When my partner Trevor gets home be it 3wks, an hour, 5 minutes Merlin greets him with full body wiggles, helicopter tail, he jumps up and down and walks between Trev’s legs. When he’s scared he becomes a Laprador as you know lol.

I think maybe that was the plan??? I mean how can you respond to that, unless it’s a slap upside their head?

Yesterday Mom spent the day with just Bailie at the nose work trial. Bailie loves one on one time with Mom as we all do, but she loves it more than others. As Mom crammed in the backseat with her before the last search, she was petting Bailie, rubbing her belly, and Bailie fell asleep with her head on Mom’s lap. She fell so sound asleep, she was dreaming – the whole nine yards with shaking and whining. Mom realized that no matter how the trial results ended up, the whole meaning of doing sports with us girls it the time together and that is what is to be cherished. She did wake her up early for her search so she had time to collect herself and she aced the vehicles with only 12 of 35 dogs managed to do.

Thank you?? Honestly. Torrey makes me smile everyday. You should have seen the look she gave me when the nieces left. Relief. And hey….I saw something you need at wal mart. A flashlight poop bag dispenser.

Oh how I love Torrey! I can imagine the relief on her face. Sampson loves the family, but having them over also stresses him out. I totes get it.

Also, I’m on the hunt for that flashlight!

Sampson LOVES his mama, that’s for sure!! You two have a soul connection. ❤️❤️

As for that idiot neighbor’s response? I give you unlimited, undying respect and kudos for not having ripped his tongue out of his mouth, or eyes out of his head, or anything else!

I’m not surprised the DADO said that. He is after all clueless and there’s no communication with the clueless. Sheesh. Talk about a bozo-head. Your sweet boy definitely loves his mama. Too precious.

There’s a reason no one guessed “Thank you”…that is so off the wall for the situation!
