WTF/WHOO HOO Wednesday

January 16, 2013 By Jodi

I had an entirely different post planned for today and then last night Lauren from Life With Desmond posted a link on my facebook page that said WTF Wednesday Worthy.  I clicked the link and read the article with my mouth open.

And then a voice that sounded a lot like Tone Loc said, “Let’s Do It.”

So back not by popular demand, but because my inner Loc is screaming, here once again is WTF/Whoo Hoo Wednesday.

Florida governor RETURNED the rescue dog he adopted for his 2010 campaign…AFTER he’d won – The Governor’s Office, Florida

Yup, you read it right.  Rick Scott adopted a dog shortly after he won the republican nomination, used and campaigned with the “rescue” dog and a month after he took office, returned the dog.

His official statement?

“He was a rescue dog,” Scott said, “and he couldn’t be around anybody that was carrying anything, and so he wouldn’t get better.”

Of course he wouldn’t get better, not on his own you stupid slug.  I get that you’re the freaking GOVERNOR, and may not have the time to work with him but it’s not like you can’t find a trainer to HELP the dog get better.

If I’d voted for your ass I’d be calling your office up and asking for my vote back, you filthy little toe rag.

One of the articles I researched said Rick Scott is going to be a grandfather this year.

I can picture him holding a crying baby, “Shhh, shhhh little baby,” sighs, jiggles the baby a bit “ it-won’t-stop-crying. Oh here, go back to your mother.

Whoo Hoo

Really, what would a WTF post be without a little Whoo Hoo?

This little video came across my facebook page on Sunday evening.  Really, I could watch it over and over again with tears streaming down my face every time.

It’s long (7 minutes) but you’ll be hooked, I promise.

So how’s your week been? Any WTF or Whoo Hoo’s you’d like to share?

Monday Mischief

January 14, 2013 By Jodi

Hubby’s alarm goes off during the week at 5:30 am.  He gets up and hops in the shower.  After he’s done showering he gets dressed, kisses me good-bye and heads to the kitchen.

Some mornings both dogs follow him and other mornings it’s just Delilah.  Sampson likes to lie in bed with me and snuggle.  (Well it’s more like I’m trying to snuggle but he wants his ears rubbed.)

My alarm goes off at 6:00 am. Most days I hit the snooze button so I get up about 6:15.  Once I’m up, I head into the kitchen to get the dog’s food ready, after it’s ready I place it in the microwave to help take the chill off it. (We feed raw….more on that in another post.)

After the dog’s food is ready, I go back in my room pick out my clothes and head for the bathroom.  At this stage Sampson is either on the bed or on the couch in the living room.  Delilah is normally on the bed.

If I exit the closet and Delilah is NOT on the bed, that means Mischief.

On rare occasions she brings her treasure into the bedroom, but most days she heads right for the living room rug.

Which is exactly where I found her.

It’s the creamer I used when I melted butter for my popcorn the night before.

Apparently I didn't get all the butter out.

Apparently I didn’t get all the butter out.

I had left it IN THE SINK.

I was slightly surprised that she carried a heavy creamer to the living room, and very grateful she didn’t drop it on the kitchen floor.  (She could have hurt herself!)

What does your fur baby do that surprises you?

2013 Goals

January 13, 2013 By Jodi

Since we’re already into the middle of January I thought it might be a good time to lay out my goals for the upcoming year.

I’m calling them goals, but in essence they’re more like guidelines, because this year I’m allowing my goals to be flexible and I’m not beating myself up if I don’t meet them.

You may need to remind me of this at some point if I start to have a melt down.

Blogging

I think my blogging goals will always be to post every day.  Granted some posts may be longer than others, but for me I need the discipline of posting every day.

I’d like to have more of my sense of humor show in my posts. Most of you don’t know this, but I’m actually fairly funny in real life.  For some reason I can’t seem to let it shine through in my posts.

A person can be serious AND funny right?  Or would that just be seriously funny?

Twitter

Oh Twitter, I want to love you, I really do.  I want to be able to use you, but what do you say on Twitter?  My niece who is quite the Twitterer, says it’s just like having a conversation, you think of something and you tweet it.

Yes, it’s true I do occasionally retweet a blog post, but for the most part, I don’t use it.

This year (like last year) I hope to learn how to tweet effectively.

I think for now, I might just stalk a couple of you on Twitter.

Other social media platforms.

There are so many social media platforms out there right now, that I honestly cannot keep up.  So for now what I intend on doing is I will strive to post at least once a week on Pinterest, I’ll check in on Triberr and see if I can figure that out.

Is there anything else that you are using that you think i need to know about?  If so, please let me know.

Writing

I still have a goal to get paid for writing, this is something I’ll be working on.

I’d also like to finish at least one of the two books I’ve started.  I actually like the book I wrote in November (during the NaNoWriMo challenge) better than I like the first one.  The problem is I over-dosed on it in November so once the challenge was over, I pulled the thumb drive and haven’t touched it since.

This year, I’d like to work on it a bit more, maybe get it to the stage where I can submit it.

Sampson and Delilah

My goals for them will never change.  It will always be to give them the very best life I possibly can, to love and cherish them and enjoy the time we’ve been given.

Do you set goals for your blog, or yourself?  How do you measure whether they are successful or not?  Do you have any tips or goals you’d like to share?
