Cats and Dogs

October 13, 2012 By Jodi

Up until this past spring, doggy daycare was part of our weekly routine. Then Delilah had a little fence fight, finances got tight and we stopped going.

Lately I’ve been sending them randomly, mostly when I know I won’t have a chance to walk them. 😉

Normally when I pick them up from daycare they are waiting at the gate for me, but yesterday I surprised them a wee bit early.  They were in crates, resting.  Jumping up and rushing out only when they saw me.

Little stinkers.

That was the first thing I noticed.  The second thing I noticed was the other dogs, lots and lots of dogs.

It was like a scene from 101 Dalmatians, except there weren’t 101 and they weren’t Dalmatians.

The next thing I noticed was Sara had a cat on the grooming table.

Wait a minute!  Really?  A Cat?

Yes, that is a cat on the grooming table.

Like you’ve never seen a cat before?

A cat.  On the grooming table.  Calm and cool amidst a sea of calm and cool dogs.

Cool and steady wins the race.

A cat, unrestrained on the grooming table.  While dogs meandered here and there, and neither species bothered the other.

I know how my dogs react to cats and I was surprised at how cool that cat remained with all those dogs around.

But as they say, truth is stranger than fiction.

Have you ever seen an interaction between different species that make you shake your head in amazement?

Follow-Up Friday (10-12-12)

October 12, 2012 By Jodi

For those new to the blog, my follow-up Friday provides me with an opportunity to update or revise a post from the previous week.

You know sometimes you post about something and you need an update but it doesn’t warrant a whole blog. Or sometimes someone made a comment that really resonated with you. Yup, Follow-Up Friday baby!

Follow-Up Friday Blog Hop

A Visit to the Vet – Update

Sampson’s now been on the antibiotic for a full week.  The instructions on the antibiotic say to give it with food to avoid an upset stomach.  I’ve been very faithful with making sure it’s taken with food, but even with that, I’ve come home twice in the past week to find evidence that someone’s been sick.

I’m assuming it’s Sampson based on the antibiotic instructions as well as the fact that Delilah rarely vomits.

The rash does seem to be fading somewhat, although I’m still really on the fence about giving him his Leptos vaccine next week.

It looks better, right?

Sunday Discovery – Update

It’s been getting dark earlier as of late, which means our walking schedule needs modifying. Hubby’s mandatory over-time is…over, which puts me in a real conundrum.  It’s hard for me to walk both dogs on leash at the same time, so Hubby’s been helping out with small walks around the block.

Delilah’s been on the harness and it’s working out pretty good.  I do think it needs to be adjusted though, since I let Sampson wear it last week.  I’ve decided that as much as I like Sampson on the harness, it won’t happen again until he has his own.

I’ve been fairly lax about working Delilah with the Here command, but have been doing a decent job with getting her to ignore dogs we come across on our walks using the Leave it command.

Thoughts I Ponder – Update

Here’s one I was thinking of but forgot to jot down.

Why am I wearing flannel lined jeans to walk the dogs in the beginning of October?

W.T.F./Whoo Hoo Wednesday – Update

Apparently PCW Computer reads my blog because I GOT MY COMPUTER BACK!!!  I’m just ecstatic and can’t wait to settle in and catch up.

Please bear with me as it may take some time.

That’s it for us, how was your week?  Any news to share? Feel like hopping?

This is the Follow-Up Friday Blog Hop, feel free to grab the badge and add your link.

This ‘N That Thursday (10-11-12)

October 11, 2012 By Jodi

Once again we join our friends over at 2 Brown Dawgs for This ‘N That Thursday.

What you haven’t heard about it?  Here’s what 2 Brown Dawgs has to say about it, “This ‘N That Thursday is for those times when you want to post about unrelated topics or each topic isn’t quite long enough to make up a whole post.”

You’re very welcome to join us, it’s not an exclusive club. 😉

Comments

I love comments, the more the better.  I love hearing what you have to say, I love you sharing your experiences with me and I love the ‘conversations’ we have and the differences of opinions that make me think and in turn grow as an individual.

I also love answering my comments, each and every one of them and I’m really behind in that task right now.  I really, really miss my lap top, having to share a desk top is really cramping my style.

Not that I’m not grateful to Hubby for his generosity, I just want my lap top.  I want to sit in my bed, snuggled against my puppies, General Hospital on the TV and respond to your comments.  Is that too much to ask for?

Follow-Up Friday Blog Hop

You may have noticed our first co-hosted blog hop had a little bit of a SNAFU.  I’m working on getting the kinks straightened out and have sent an e-mail and am waiting for a response.

There will still be a FUF blog hop this week, it just won’t be co-hosted.  Hopefully everything will be back on track for next week.  If all goes well and she’s willing to participate my co-host for next week will be Kristine and her amazing blog, Rescued Insanity.

If you aren’t already a follower of Kristine’s your really missing out.  Yesterday she posted my all-time favorite story of Shiva.  If you haven’t read it, be prepared.  It’s outrageous!

Smiling Sam

Did you see that photograph, of probably a year or so ago when a woman posted on one of those photo sites of her dog at his birthday party with a big ole’ smile on his face?

Well my Sam-man smiles all the time, I tried to get a picture last night of it, because well he’s just so gosh darn cute.

Smiling?

What do you think?  Did I capture it or not?  Does your pup smile at you?
