Pet Blogger Showcase – October 1, 2016

October 1, 2016 By Jodi

Hello and Happy October 1st to you! Can you believe it is already October? Where did the year go?

Thank you for joining me today for the Pet Blogger Showcase, Before I get into this post, I’d like to mention we have a new co-host this week.

Please help me to welcome Katherine from Momma Kat and Her Bear Cat.

First I should let you know we are all hanging in there. I’m working on some stuff and really hope to get back to more frequent blogging very soon. In the meantime, I want to thank all of the participants of the last Linky Pawty and share with you my favorites from there.

Par for the course, I have three and an honorable. 😉

five-sibes

The Groomer Man Cometh and Goeth by Five Sibes Mom at FiveSibes – I’ve followed a couple of Siberian Husky blogs and always wondered just what the hell ‘blowing coat’ meant. Well wonder no more! The Groomer Man (who cometh to their home) shows us exactly how much fur those Sibes have! Enough for another dog.  No, siriusly.

Daily Dog Tag

Spotlight: Greyboy Pet Prints by Beth at The Daily Dog Tag-I’m not one for decorating in my home. Honestly most people would probably call it early Pioneer (LOL) but I do so love to have photos  and paintings hanging on the walls, or set out to look at. Now imagine taking one of your favorite photos and turning into a sketch. Wouldn’t THAT be amazing?

Ducky

So Much to Love by Sue at Forever In My Heart – Of course I had to choose this one. Ducky reminds me so much of my own Delilah. (And what can I say, I love a challenging dog.) Those dogs that really challenge you, are so rewarding when the hard work pays off. I can’t believe she’s been with Sue for four years already! Happy Gotcha Day Ducky!

Honorable Mention

luke-harness

Positive Pet Training: Nose Works by Jan at Wag ‘N Woof Pets – When you have a fearful or reactive dog, I’ve discovered that positive training is the way to go. Watching Jan work with Luke and seeing his confidence shine through, reinforces that belief for me.

Well there you have it! Join the Pawty and come back in two weeks to see who makes the Showcase next.

Pet Blogger Showcase – September 17, 2016

September 17, 2016 By Jodi

Thank you for joining me today for the Pet Blogger Showcase.

Today I’ll be sharing three of MY favorite posts from the previous Pet Blogger party which took place on September 3rd.

Here in no uncertain order, I present my favorite posts from the last Showcase.

How to Tell if Your Dog is in Pain by Elaine at Chasing Dog Tales

chasing-dog-tales-9-17-16

Most of you know that Sampson’s been struggling with some leg and muscle injuries as well as arthritis. The thing that really upsets me, is I noticed things were changing, but I didn’t realize the ‘symptoms’ were telling me he was in pain. Knowing what’s ‘normal’ and not normal can be really helpful.

The Most Beautiful Barf by Beth at Travels with Barley

travels-with-barley-9-17-16

Having a maniacal muncher myself, as soon as I saw the title of this one, I knew she’d gotten into something. If you have one of THOSE dogs, the one who eats anything/everything. I’m pretty sure you can relate to this one.

A Coat of a Different Color by Kathleen at All Things Collie.

all-things-collies-9-17-16

Before I started following Kathleen’s blog, I thought collies only came in the Lassie ‘style’. You know, the long-haired kind. I had no idea there were different types of coats, and NOW she tells me there are different colors, and man, what a variety of colors! I love learning about different breeds of dogs and this post about the coat colors, what was SO interesting.

So there you have it, my favorites from the last showcase. What were yours?

Pet Blogger Showcase – September 3, 2016

September 3, 2016 By Jodi

Thank you for joining me today for the Pet Blogger Showcase.

Today I’ll be sharing three (okay four) of MY favorite posts from the previous Pet Blogger party which took place on August 20th.

You guys are making it super tough for me to settle on only three, so once again this week, I have an honorable mention. Here in no uncertain order, I present my favorite posts from the last Showcase.

Working German Shepherd Dogs, Not Just a Pretty Face a guest post by Mila Sanchez at Animal Bliss.

I love learning about different breeds of dogs and I love reading about the ways dogs are used to help people. I’ve known that the GSD was a working dog, and I know many of the jobs they are trained for, but I’ve never really put it all together. This post did.

Leave It – Teach your dog to NOT eat stuff by Juliet Whitfield at Tails From the Road

It’s so important to teach Leave It to a dog. We taught it to Sampson when he was just a puppy, Delilah was a little harder. If you’re struggling at all in teaching this command to your dog, Juliet has it all written out in easy to follow steps. Trust me, you won’t regret teaching this command to your dog.

Positive Pet Training – Baby Steps Help Our Reactive Dog by Jan Keefe at Wag ‘N Woof Pets

Having a reactive dog myself, I’m always interested in learning how other people work with/manage their dogs. AND since I’ve been following Luke’s story before he even arrived at Casa de Wag ‘N Woof, I love hearing an update. Jan also has some great ideas for managing Luke. It’s a great read.

Adopt Me: Jasmine the Terrier/American Staffordshire Mix by Beth Patterson at The Daily Dog Tag

Because who doesn’t love it when a great dog is adopted?
