You Make Me Laugh

September 29, 2013 By Jodi

One of the big reasons I started this blog was for all the crazy, funny things my dogs do that bring a smile to my face or a laugh to my lips.

Sometimes it’s not easy to write a full blog post about it and sometimes I forget to share.

Some posts will be You Make Me Laugh and others will be You Make Me Smile, but they will all be the silly, sweet, funny things Sampson and Delilah do that help make crazy days just a little bit easier.

Feel free to share what your pet does to make you laugh/smile in the comments.

photo-10-PIC Delilah, when you come into the bathroom and shove your head between my legs because you’re impatiently waiting for your breakfast;

photo-11-PIC you make me laugh.

She does it every morning, while I’m getting ready for work.  And let me tell you, she is persistent!  She will keep pushing until she accomplishes what she wants to.

What kind of quirky things does your dog do?  Anything as strange as this?

Follow-Up Friday – September 27, 2013

September 27, 2013 By Jodi

Welcome to this edition of Follow-up Friday, the blog hop that let’s you wrap up your week and leads you right into the weekend.

Follow-Up Friday Blog Hop

Follow-Up Friday Blog Hop

My co-hostess this week lives in the south, but is originally from up north, she’s got that no-nonsense attitude mixed in with her southern charm.  She is fur mom to Shadow, Callie and Ducky, please make sure you pop over and say hello to Sue from The Golden Life.  Many thanks to Sue for co-hosting this week!

I don’t typically follow-up on Follow-up Friday comments, but this one by Dawn really needed a response, “my dog Cassie from my childhood would always walk when she pooped or peed.”

Delilah does the same thing.  We call her “Delilah shit walker.”

You Make Me Laugh

Most of you said your dogs either do the same thing as Sampson, or they hide the toy.  It’s funny isn’t it, that they’ve learned to communicate so well. 😀

Bubbers 2

What’s the Stink About?

Yeah, I think we all agreed that leaving your dog’s business (or in some people’s case, their own brains) right next to the poop station is the epitome of laziness.

I did speak at length with the town Parks and Recreation department manager and I outright told him, the best prevention would be two feet in the park observing who is doing (or not doing) what.  I also suggested poop stations and trash cans scattered throughout the park, but so far nothing has happened.

Some day I will go up there without the dogs and bring my pail and scooper, I won’t mind picking up after someone else’s dog in that manner.

Pumpkin Patties

Gizmo said, “These do sound good enough to share and they look just like peanut butter cookies…hmm, maybe add a touch of peanut butter too?”

That’s where I got the idea for pressing them with a fork Gizmo!  I can’t eat peanuts myself, but I bet some almond, cashew or sunbutter would work just as well.  Actually I’m planning on making an icing for them this weekend and see how that tastes.

Tenacious Little Terrier said, “They look good. Perfect for fall. I’m tempted to make some and leave them out so the BF will eat them unaware.”

Oh that made me LOL.  You should record it too.

Jodi, Kolchak and Felix said, “Those look amaaaaaazing! Did you know you can get cookie scoops (kind of like mini ice cream scoops ) to get uniform balls? Then you just have to roll them around a bit to warm ‘em up & shape them and voila! You’ve rolled Mrs. Taleteller’s mind right into the gutter (but your cookies will look good too.)”

Shit, I have one of those little scoops too!  It’s been so long since I’ve been baking I’ve forgotten all the tricks to the trade.

BTW, I like putting Mrs. Taleteller’s mind in the gutter, I’m thinking of asking her to share a room with me Vegas. 😉  I think we could get into some sirius trouble.

It’s a Doggone Shame

Jen said, “I’m not sure if I could tie the poop to my loops, something about hot shit hitting my thigh would drive me crazy!”

Yeah, really I tried it once but the bag of shit bopping along with me on the walk, just didn’t sit well.  I thought it would be a great photo for shaming purposes so I recreated the photo, but typically I don’t walk with it like that!  It grosses me out.

Jen K said, “Haha! I am not willing to take the risk of tying Newfoundland-sized poop to my pants”

Um yeah, I don’t blame you on that one!  Lab size is bad enough!

That’s my wrap up for the week.  Don’t forget to swing by and say hello to Sue and the gang.  This is the Follow-Up Friday Blog Hop hosted by The Golden Life and Heart Like a Dog.

This ‘N That Thursday – Delilah Style

September 26, 2013 By Jodi

Hey all, Delilah here filling in for The Mama who apparently is too ashamed to show her face this morning.

What’s that Mama?  Yes, yes I know it’s This ‘N That Thursday hosted by the 2 Brown Dawgs Blog.  I really think I could be friends with Storm and Thunder’s very handsome.   Freighter, well let me just say Freighter and I could have a lot of fun.

Did you say something Mama?  Yes, yes I’m well aware that you’ll handle tomorrow’s Follow-up Friday post, with your co-host Sue from The Golden Life.   Honestly that little Ducky is a cute little demon dog.

Now what Mama?  Okay, I will remind everyone the deadline for purchasing the awesome Dogs of Blogville Calendar is quickly approaching. You can find the button on the right paw side of the blog.

Now Mama, unless you want to sit your ass down and write this post, shut your pie hole.  Go cry in your coffee woman, I want to tell everyone the story of me and the chipmunk.

Any of you out there know a way to help The Mama chillax?  You’d be doing me a solid if you’d help a girl out.

So anyway, last weekend I was casually walking by the door and I noticed The Mama staring intently at something.  Must be something shiny, honestly that woman’s like a magpie I thought to myself.  But curiosity got the better of me (it’s not just for cats you know) so I glanced over.

And then I stared.

Delilah-P

Can  you see it in this picture?  Over on the left hand side on the deck, just past where the house wall stops.

Watching-P

You probably can’t see it because The Mama can’t take a photo to save her life, but trust me, it’s there.  A wee little chipmunk.

Chipmunk-P Here’s a better shot of it. (Thank Dog for the zoom, if it weren’t for the zoom…)

Now I’ve been a chipmunk watcher since we moved into this house.   At first my approach was to charge out the door, barking at them to get off my deck.  But then I changed my tune, because honestly I’d love to catch one because I’m curious about how they taste, (someone told me they taste like chicken and I like chicken) but those little suckers are fast.  The Mama would always say, “stealth my love, stealth” but she never told me just what the woof stealth was.

Intent-P Eventually I figured it out on my own (cause’ I have a brain, unlike someone who shall remain un-named) Anyway, so there I sat staring intently at my snack the chipmunk and contemplating my course of action, when what do I see out of the corner of my eye?

Blunder Boy-P Yup! Blunder Boy!  Here he comes strolling across the deck all Scooby Doo “Hey what’s that?”

Oh and he’s close to that chipmunk, like about 12 to 16 paws away.  I look at Blunder Boy, who’s looking at the chipmunk, who’s looking at Blunder Boy.

Nooooooooooooo!   That chipmunk is mine!!!

BB2-P Too late!  The chipmunk darted below the deck faster than those scurvy pirates in that Johnny Depp movie The Mama drools about.

Sniff Sniff-P I rushed outside.  Yup, that’s where his little chipmunk butt sat and yes, it even SMELLS like chicken, but once again I’ve been thwarted.  Not by the chipmunk this time, but by Sampson.  How oh how can she call him the Golden Boy?  He can’t even catch a friggin’ chipmunk that’s mere paws away!

Sadly that’s all I’ve got for today, I enjoy writing this blog so if you enjoy reading me, let The Mama know in the comments.
