Co-Hosted Follow Up Friday

January 4, 2013 By Jodi

Welcome to the first co-hosted Follow-up Friday Blog Hop of 2013.

Follow-Up Friday Blog Hop

Follow-Up Friday Blog Hop

My co-hostess this week is my first repeater!  Yay!!!  When she’s not hunt training her three dogs, she’s changing her blog design, reading blogs, commenting on blogs and I almost forgot.

She’s kicking my butt in Bubble Safari Ocean.

If you haven’t it guessed it by now, it’s our dear friends at the 2 Brown Dawgs Blog!

Thank you so much for co-hosting and joining us today!

Blog of the Year 2012 Award and Hey Sweetness – Author’s Note

It’s exciting to get and pass on awards and it’s also great to find new blogs.  I’m constantly updating my reader with new blogs I discover from you!

Let It Snow – Update

Well Beauregard puppy is gone, they left Wednesday morning and are now safely back in Nebraska.  I’m fairly certain the dogs weren’t sad to see the backside of him.

An interesting comment from Pamela at Something Wagging, “If Sampson is responding to the puppy’s moves instead of instigating problems, I think you have less of a problem.”

Which is something I never considered and yes, it is wonderful to see your dog through someone else’s eyes Pamela.

Until she pointed it out it never dawned on me that the dogs are reacting to the puppy not at the puppy. Point taken.

And because Julie asked, here are a couple of pictures of Bo in his coat.

It's my hood, I"m not really wearing a flower behind my ear.

Hey Sampson, does this coat make my butt look big?

Hunting Bigfoot – Author’s Note

Some posts are just more fun to write than others.  This one rolled around in my brain while on our walk and was just begging to come out.

I hope it was as fun for you to read as it was for me to write.

This ‘N That Thursday – Update

Thank you all for the thoughts and well wishes for my knee. It is feeling so much better.  I made it through yesterday with very little pain, I must have just sat on it wrong.

I don’t think Windows Live Writer will work for my blog. I have a problem with it showing a double header. But I will keep on working on it, because I think it’s a nice program.

Thank you so much to the 2 Brown Dawgs blog for co-hosting this week and thank YOU for tuning in to Follow-Up Friday,

This ‘N That Thursday

January 3, 2013 By Jodi

Today we join our friends at the 2 Brown Dawgs blog for This ‘N That Thursday.

http://2browndawgs.files.wordpress.com/2012/07/this-n-that-3.jpg

The 2 Brown Dawgs created This ‘N That Thursday for the days when you want to post a little bit about one topic, then a little bit about another.

It’s a Bummer

I had yesterday off, it was a planned day.  You know, just to extend my time away from work. 🙂

Tuesday evening I got up off the couch and had incredible pain in my right knee.  There went all my plans for my day off.

Sampson and Delilah desperately wanted to go for a walk, but I had to defer and wait for Hubby to come home so he could walk them around the block.

I literally cannot stand on my leg for more than a minute and there are times just hobbling about where I can barely stand.

I did go to the Dr. and I did have x-rays and nothing showed up.  I am resting the leg and taking Advil, if it is not feeling better by Monday, I will go to the Orthopedic Dr.

BlogPaws

I saw a notice from BlogPaws that they are looking for speakers for the upcoming conference.  Public speaking is my gig.  I love it.  It was the Public Speaking class in college that changed my major from Computer Programming to Communications.

There is a strict criteria for speaking at BlogPaws and I’m not sure I’m qualified for it.  I’m thinking a basic beginner class in how a beginning blogger grows their audience.

I need honest opinions here, we all know I’m not the greatest with technology, but if you don’t like this idea, is there something you think I’d be qualified to offer as a class?

Windows Live Writer

I found this little blogging tool from my new pal Gizmo from Terrier Torrent, he got it from Dawn Miklitch from NEPA Pets.

I’m hoping this post came out alright because I’m just now experimenting with it.  Besides being a program for blog writing, there are other features such as gathering all your mail accounts in one place, photo albums, messenger, scheduling your blog posts, (even though I know WP has the same feature.) etc.

The program is free and if I hate it, then I’ll uninstall it.

Sampson’s Website

I spent most of the last two days working on the redesign of Sampson’s blog.  He’s published his first post (with a bit of help from me) and I’m currently deciding if I will make a blog from Delilah’s viewpoint.

Check out my blog.

Check out my blog.

I think Delilah’s voice is easy for me to find, as I think of her as sassy and snappy.  Almost like a New Yorker or a Jersey Girl.

If you want to check out his site, you can find it here.

That’s it for This ‘N That Thursday, many thanks to our friends at the 2 Brown Dawgs Blog.

Hunting Bigfoot

January 2, 2013 By Jodi

I have big feet.

It’s mostly due to their width, if they were hairy and dirty they’d be Hobbit feet.  But they’re not. Hairy and dirty I mean, nor are they Hobbit feet.

Sorry, I digress.  For the sake of the post, let’s just call them large.

Before we had the huge snowfall this past weekend, we had a slight covering on Christmas morning.

One of the things I love about walking in the fresh snow is observing tracks of creatures two and four-legged that have traveled the trails before us.

We discovered someone or something bigger than I, had already been through the trails.

That's a big foot!

That’s a big foot!

I called the dogs to me.

Sampson, Delilah listen to me.  There may be something very large on these trails.  We need to be sharp if we’re going to catch this wily creature.

Roger that mom, never fear, we’re on the trail.

So you're saying it's large and hairy and probably smells bad?

I'll go first and see if I can pick up his trail.

You go that way Sampson, I think I smell something back here. Oh wait, that's just mom.

He's definitely been in these leaves.

He’s definitely been in these leaves.

Well he's not down here.

Well he’s not down here.

It looks like there's been a fire, do you think he knows how to start one?

Mom sprang a trap that Bigfoot had set to catch dinner. Lucky we were here to save her.

Oh NO! His foot prints are all over these sleigh tracks. I hope he didn't eat Santa.

Piss on you Bigfoot! Stay out of our woods.

Piss on you Bigfoot! Stay out of our woods.

We've sniffed and searched mom, I think we're safe.

We’ve sniffed and searched mom, I think we’re safe.

Well after almost an hour of searching we had to come to the conclusion that either Bigfoot was good at hiding, or there is in reality, no Bigfoot.

Did you ever encounter something odd on any of your walks?
