Don’t Put All Your Eggs in One Basket

April 1, 2013 By Jodi

If you saw our post yesterday you know we had an Easter “photo shoot” on Saturday.

Sampson has had camera’s stuck in his face since he was three weeks old, he’s very blase′ about it.

Delilah is by far the harder dog to get a photo of, she’s not particularly fond of ‘smiling’ for the camera, she’s constantly looking somewhere else and for some reason, I feel like I rarely get good shots of her.

So imagine my surprise when during our Easter photo shoot, I took eleven photos with only one blooper.

To be fair it wasn’t her fault.

There we were out on the deck, both dogs posed with the eggs looking great.  All of a sudden both dogs snapped their heads to their right, my left.  What the heck I thought that’s a great shot, I’ll title it, “Is that the Easter Bunny I see.”

It worked in my head.

Monday Mischief Does she look like a dinosaur here, or is it just me?

Sadly what works in my head doesn’t work when a deer walks through the neighbor’s yard and behind our fence.

To her credit, she did lay back down and stayed while I snuck up in the back to try to get a photo (I didn’t) but as soon as we gave her the release command she went up back to check things out for herself.

Do you plan photo shoots with your dogs?  Do they turn out the way you think they would?

The Trash Collector

March 25, 2013 By Jodi

Saturday was a bad Delilah walk day, it was as bad as Defeated and Lost, Parts One and Two.

Yup.  It was that bad.

I plan on talking about the walk portion of the day tomorrow.

Today I want to tell you about Saturday night.

Hubby and I had dinner plans with my cousin.  We planned to meet at six o’clock, which meant more than likely we’d be back after their scheduled 7 o’clock dinner time.  No big deal, maybe they’d let Hubby sleep in a little later yesterday morning.

When all was said and done, it was about 8:30 by the time we got home.

I headed straight to the kitchen because Delilah was losing her mind.

I heard Hubby say, “Oops, I must have left my lunch stuff out.”

IMG_4543 You’d think something left out on your table would be safe, wouldn’t you?

Would you also think this is the Monday Mischief Blog Hop, hosted by Alfie’s Blog, Snoopy’s Dog Blog and My Brown Newfies?

Counter Surfing 101

March 18, 2013 By Jodi

Saint Patrick’s day is over, the corned beef was delicious and now we look forward to next Sunday’s breakfast, which is corned beef hash and eggs.

Sometimes I’m not sure which we like more, the corned beef or the corned beef hash.  Hubby makes a killer corned beef hash.

The year was 2008, it was a couple of days after Saint Patrick’s day and Hubby was preparing our corned beef hash for dinner.

He had come home and taken the left over corned beef and put it through my grandmother’s meat grinder and it was all set, sitting on the counter until I came home and he could start dinner.

I had picked the dogs up from daycare and they rushed in all happy to see Daddy after a long day of being apart.  Hubby met me in the dining room with something he wanted to show me.

I can’t for the life of me remember what we were talking about, but it took a few seconds for the sound of slurping to register.

“What the hell is that noise?” I asked.

“I don’t know” he said, “but it’s coming from the kitchen.

DELILAH! We both shouted.

Counter Surfing 101 She’s bold that one.

She had managed to eat the entire plate of corned beef!

I’ll handle it, I said and promptly locked her in her crate for her own safety.

She’s damn lucky you were here, he said to me later and I’m glad I was.

She’s a counter surfer that one. (No, that is not the original picture, I was too busy saving the dog’s life to snap a photo.)

And this is the Monday Mischief blog hop hosted by Alfie’s Blog, Snoopy’s Dog Blog and My Brown Newfies.
