The Best Laid Plans of Mice and Men

May 20, 2013 By Jodi

We have something called ‘team-meetings’ at work. They were actually my idea and I hate them.

Initially they were designed to gather the office together and see where people were in regards to particular projects. The idea as originally intended, was to have weekly meetings of approximately 15 to 20 minutes to help keep all projects moving forward.

Well as the saying goes, “The best laid plans of mice and men.”

I can never quite pin my boss down to a small weekly meeting, what happens is he goes weeks and sometimes even months without ever having a meeting and then we have one long, boring meeting where he regurgitates everything he’s been holding in his gray matter since the last meeting.

That’s how I feel today. I have so many thoughts and experiences to share from this past weekend that I feel like my brain needs to regurgitate.

Since I can’t regurgitate my brain (and actually I’m quite thankful for that) I need to sit down and come up with a game plan as to how I’m going to share this past weekend with all of you who couldn’t attend.

CONGRATULATIONS are in order

I’d like to start with a huge CONGRATULATIONS to Kol’s Note’s, Jodi Chick for winning the award for Best Bark Blog, this is one awesome lady, great mentor and friend and truly deserving of this award.

CONGRATULATIONS also go out to Mrs.Taleteller from Tales and Tails, she won the Best Photo award for a beautiful photo of Miss Bunny incognito.  I had a grand time with Mrs. Taleteller and I can tell you I imagine I could get up to some mischief with that one.

For those who wondered how my presentation went, I’d say it was okay.  I’ve asked for some feedback from BlogPaws from the folks who actually attended and will let you know how it went.  I also intend to share the entire presentation here  and BlogPaws did record all sessions so hopefully you can check it out if you’re interested.

Hubby drove down Saturday to pick me up and we had a gruesome ride home yesterday.  A trip that should normally take 5 1/2 to 6 hours took us closer to 8 and by the time I got in, all I wanted to do was snuggle the pups.  I should have been working on this post while we were driving home but I was having some fun tweeting and treating and did not.

I promise to work on a post to tell you all about the awesome Blogging Rock Stars I met, and the fun things I won and brought home with me and the great things I learned.  But until then, indulge me just a little while I try to re-cooperate from an incredibly, awesome weekend.

The best laid plans of mice and men, does that mean there is a mouse? Are they tasty?

Why I Love Thee Award

February 26, 2013 By Jodi

Friday we received the “Why I Love Thee” award from our friends at DogDaz.

why-i-love-thee-award

As with most awards, there are some rules. Luckily for us, this award only has two!

First thank the one who gave you the award and link to their blog.  Thank you DogDaz. (BTW, she’s got a great post about BSL up on her blog today.)

Then, if you’re an animal, you tell everyone why you love your bipeds (your people). If you’re a biped you tell why you love your animal(s), or why you love animals in general, or anything you like about love.

The Mama, Honestly, I think I could write a book about why I love my dogs.  I don’t think I can sum it up in a paragraph or a sentence but I’ll try. They make me laugh, make me feel better when I’m feeling down and love me unconditionally, but most importantly they make me a better person.

Rubbies 1

Sampson, Mama takes me for nice walkies in the woods, she feeds me awesome food, she will pet me whenever I want and she doesn’t make me go to those stupid classes she takes Delilah to.  I love my Mama.

Delilah, Listen, I have some flaws, we all know that.  I counter surf, pick through garbage, shred tissues, blow off recalls, eat poop.  Well you get the picture, I’m not perfect, but my Mama says I’m perfect for her.

She named me Delilah Rose and she calls me her Second-Hand Rose because she says some person threw away a treasure.

Quite simply she’s the best Mama I’ve ever had.

Awwwww.

Well there you have it, it’s a mutual admiration club. 🙂

The second and last bit of the award is to pass it along to another blog that you love.

This past December I participated in the Pet Blogger Gift Exchange hosted by Pamela at Something Wagging This Way Comes.  I was paired with Cokie the Cat.

Cokie 1 You know! Cokie the Cat, the Hollywood Insider!

Cokie and his mom Kristin have been amazing to me in so many ways and I’m really looking forward to meeting her at BlogPaws this year.

My nominee for the Why I Love Thee Award goes to Cokie the Cat and his mom Kristin.

Cokie

If you aren’t already a follower of Cokie’s, pop on over and say hello.

If your pet could talk, what would they say about you?

Hey Sweetness

December 30, 2012 By Jodi

Hey there.

Sampson here, and Delilah’s right next to me.  Today we’re picking up the slack for mom.  We found out yesterday that she waited over two weeks to accept an award.

Delilah: Quite frankly I find this….well….unacceptable.  I mean, she expects me to learn three or four tricks in a night and she can’t even be bothered to accept an award in a reasonable amount of time.

I swear I wish they made a clicker I could use, I could whip that woman into shape if I…..

Sampson: Delilah, can you focus?  We’re here to answer some questions that go along with the Super Sweet Blogging Award we’re accepting for mom today.

supersweetlarge

You know the one presented to her by Gizmo from Terrier Torrent?

Delilah:  Oh, yes that little fluffy dog mom pointed out to us the other day.  I’m not sure I’d like being a fluffy dog, it seems to me there’s a lot more work that goes into keeping yourself presentable then our short fur.  I mean I suppose….

Sampson: DELILAH!  Can we get on with it?  It’s almost time for our walk.

Apparently these awards come with some type of guidelines…rules if you will, that we must follow.  This one has questions we need to answer.

Are you ready?  Here are the questions, I’ll answer first.

1. Cookies or Cake?

Sampson: Cookies of course.

Delilah: Cookies, definitely cookies.  I mean what dog doesn’t like cookies?

2. Chocolate or Vanilla?

Sampson: Vanilla, I’ve never had chocolate.

Delilah: Well duh, I’m chocolate, of course I love chocolate, even though mom just about loses her mind when she catches me eating it.

3. What is your favorite sweet treat?

Sampson: Strawberry milkshakes.

Delilah: I’d have to say chocolate….wait a minute!  You get strawberry milkshakes?  When do you get strawberry milkshakes?  I never get strawberry milkshakes.  MOM!!

4. When do you crave sweet things the most?

Sampson: The only real time I eat sweets is at 9:00 pm snack time.

Delilah:  Oh yesssss!!  Snack time!  I LOVE snack time, when she takes those little bones and freezes them with pumpkin and applesauce OR better pumpkin and yogurt.  Oh, oh wait my absolute favorite is the Kong stuffed with pineapple and yogurt.  YUMMO.  We haven’t had those in a long time, I wonder…

Sampson:  Hem, hem.  The questions Delilah, let’s finish this up please.

5. If you had a sweet nickname, what would it be?

Sampson: The closet I’m called to anything sweet is Punkin.

Delilah: Duh, Sweet Pea, Dad always calls me Sweet Pea.  I love Dad.

Sampson: The next part of the award involves passing it along to 13 other bloggers.

Delilah: 13?!!  Do we even KNOW 13 bloggers?

Sampson: Do you want to help or not?

Delilah: Well of course I want to help.  I’ll nominate all the blogs with the handsome dogs….

Sampson: Never mind Delilah, I’ve got this one.

Sampson: Well there you have it, unless Mom’s been hiding something from us.

Delilah: I wouldn’t put it past her, she’s tricksy that one.

Sampson: As I was saying, as far as we know she is caught up now.  I hope you enjoyed our picks for the Super Sweet Blogging Award, and we hope you visit their blogs and make some new friends.

Delilah: Special thanks to our friend Gizmo for passing this award along to us.

Sampson: Is it time for our walk yet?
