Let Sleeping Dogs

May 27, 2018 By Jodi

Do you struggle cleaning your house around your dogs? My dogs have a tendency to lay RIGHT where I’m working.  Or worse, Delilah follows me everywhere, and always manages to stand right where the vacuum is going next.

Sigh.

Last week I was running the vacuum, and I couldn’t move where I wanted to. I looked over to see this.

I told Sampson, “You can’t lie on the cord,” and I moved it. I vacuumed some more and looked over to see this.

Like he was saying, you told me not to lie on it, and technically, I’m not lying on it.

It just made me laugh, he’s such a character.

You make me laugh, (or smile.) The sweet, funny, loving things my dogs do that make me laugh or smile.

What did your pet do to make YOU laugh or smile this week?

But mommy, I’m not on the cord lol too cute.

My babies don’t like the vacuum cleaner so they all jump on the couch and huddle until I’m done. But once I get the mop out here they all come. They love the mop, I guess it looks like a fun toy. They go back n forth as I’m mopping trying to catch it. It cracks me up!

We are not real interesting in cleaning with Mom. Madison is the only one who for some reason, is scared of the vacuum. My sisters often get sent out to the yard while Mom and I clean. Love how Sampson keeps an eye, or head on the cord for you.

Aww such a sweet boy. Merlin’s scared of the vacuum, he likes to supervise and has become Chief sock collector and distributor. Mostly he collects them and plays keep-away with them if he wants attention.

That’s a new one by Sampson! Luke is a bit afraid of the vacuum. You would think that’d mean that he’d clear the room and hide when I had it out. But no, we get to play the game of dodge the vacuum, and somehow he always seems to know where I want to go next!
Most of our dogs have been afraid of it, but our beagle Kobi wasn’t. He would lay wherever he wanted, and no matter how close the vacuum came to him, he wouldn’t budge!

Oh that is way too adorable. When the vacuum comes out around here, the dogs practically leave skid marks. It’s when I’m trying to work int he teeny tiny galley kitchen where the real impediments lie. Literally. And in the way. 😇

One of my Boston’s like to chase and bite at my vacuum. So I can’t get very far!

Mom vacuums 52 times a day. I don’t even have time to lie down where she’s vacuuming. I have more important things to do. …like lie down where she ALREADY vacuumed, to get a headstart on the next time.
