You Make Me Smile – November 5, 2017

November 5, 2017 By Jodi

You make me smile (or laugh). The sweet, funny, loving things my dogs do on a daily basis that brings a smile to my face, or a laugh to my lips.

Last week Sampson had his annual vet visit. I rushed home from work, quickly walked both dogs and then started getting the car ready.

When the dogs know I’m outside near the car, they tend to watch me from the sliding door in the den.

I backed the car in, laid the seats down and spread the rugs out. Then I got the ramp out, and set it up at the back of the car. Then I went inside, loaded my pockets with treats, and put Sampson’s harness on.

When I opened the back door, in a move I would typically only associate with Delilah, Sampson bolted out the door, and jetted around the corner of the house.

I looked at Hubby, and said, “Did you see that?”

“I did,” he responded.

We both walked outside and around the house to find Sampson waiting expectantly at the gate.

We sure laughed over that one.  I don’t think I’ve seen him move that fast in about four years!

Here he is at the vet’s office. He was watching a couple that was dropping their cat off. He was determined to get their attention and to get some pets.

Such intensity.

In case you’re wondering…he did. And that makes me smile.

OMG! That’s wonderful! Yay Sampson! Gives me hope that I will see a similar move from Shadow. She was a little gimpy today, but I blame the damp, cloudy weather. Maybe a little extra hemp oil is in order on crappy days.

What a time you picked to be in a rush, S. To get to the vet! Yikes! You need to zoom out like that to go to the park or the pet store! NOT the vet!

    Love and licks,
    Cupcake

We love going in the car, but if I know it is the vet, I tend to hide. My sisters like the vet, but not me. That’s great he is so happy about going and being there. Extra attention from others is always wonderful too!

Awwww, sweet boy. Sometimes Roxy forgets she is old too, and will run, run.

Dogs don’t worry about numbers like age and maybe we shouldn’t either.

You still got it, buddy. The dash and the ability to make your mama smile. Way to go, Sampson.

Well done Sampson. Merlin loves the vet. He will let male vets do whatever they want with him, but not female vets. I don’t know why.
On a walk Merlin will stop and wait for the people that’s behind us to solicit pats from them lol.

Good to see he’s still got some get up and go! Yay, Sampson! And I would totally give him some pets if I saw a handsome boy like him at the vet!
