You Make Me Smile – October 22, 2017

October 22, 2017 By Jodi

There was a time, not too long ago, when Hubby would work outside and Sampson had to be out there with him. Sadly, due to injuries, he doesn’t show the desire to do so too frequently. There are still times when the only way we can get him to go outside for his last potty of the night, is for Hubby to take him out front. And there are still times when he goes with Hubby on Tuesday nights to take the trash to the curb, but those times are occasionally now, instead of regular.

As I mentioned in the beginning of the week, Sampson has been so much peppier since he’s been taking on the Treatibles.

You can imagine my joy when he came outside to hang with Mom and Dad while we did yard work yesterday morning.

This for sure makes me smile.

What made you smile this week?

As we dogs get older and have our different issues the humans really do delight in the small things they took for granted not long ago. So happy he is out there supervising your work! Looks like a gorgeous day to be out too.

I know you value his companionship–inside or outside.

I’m glad Sampson’s feeling better!! Shadow has been, too, for the most part since I started her on the Treatibles. And her daily walk on the treadmill. The vet made me smile on Tuesday morning when he said that her discomfort at times was just arthritis, not a recent injury that she’s trying to hide.

So glad he wanted to be out with you, even if watching you work was clearly exhausting!

I know how you feel, it’s tough when they don’t do the things they used to enjoy, and it makes us so happy when they show signs of feeling better.
This morning Cricket skidded right by the door (like a cartoon character) in her excitement to go outside to play ball! It didn’t phase her a bit, she just jumped right up and turned around and kept going!

Seeing a sweet face like that would make me smile too! Teaching a dog who has no skills at being a dog always makes for a happy occasion when they ‘get’ it. [more like, I managed to get Elsa to understand what was expected is probably more like it]. My happy dance this week came with teaching Elsa a new basic command. And she got it. Pure joy.

You look like a very helpful assistant, S. You should go out to work with your parents more often!

    Love and licks,

I’m glad he’s feeling better. I’m going to have to look into these treatibles.

This is on my list of things to teach! Grady is really tall so we are first working on some balance exercises

Sandy ate her first raw egg (it fell on the floor – anything that hits is hers) As the liquid coated her lips she got the strangest look on her face!
