When Your Dog Knows…

October 15, 2017 By Jodi

Sometimes life can be challenging. Here at Casa de Stone, we’ve had a few challenging months.

It started with an office move the end of July, rolled into some minor health-related problems for me, and Thursday night I noticed Delilah had another ulcer in her eye. Took her to the vet on Friday, and she actually had three ulcers! So now she’s on antibiotic drops.

I’ve always found my peace and solitude in the woods when I’m walking the dogs. Weekday walks are really limited for time, so the woods are off limits. On the weekends, Delilah gets a longer walk than normal, and she has a favorite route she likes to follow…but sometimes…

Into the woods…

Sometimes…your dog just knows just what your soul  needs.

They call to my soul

The woods call to me and replenish my soul.

And that makes me smile.

Nothing is better for a human with any kind of issues than a nice long, peaceful walk with the dog! It helps out humans immensely!

Dogs do just know, don’t they? I think you know we had a rough week, losing my brother-in-law., after losing my job recently, so things were piling up on me! One thing that helped keep me sane was finding a little time to take the dogs for a walk in the woods. It was exactly what I needed.

Dogs do know. They sense when we don’t feel well, and they try their best to make us feel better.

I know how you feel about the woods. I’d love to live close to a woody area! But at least I have a few trees in the yard.

I hope your “minor health issues” clear up soon! Sorry I haven’t been in touch lately. Hope Delilah’s ulcers clear up soon, too!! Bless your hearts! Sending hugs and POTP! 🤗❤️

And yes, dogs DO “just know” what we need and when we need it. Shadow has never been an overly affectionate dog like Callie, but lately she is doling out more affection to both of us. And Ducky seems to know exactly when I need her to do something silly.

The intuitiveness of these amazing creatures continues to impress me. I hope life on your end is somewhat more sane, your health issues have greatly improved and D-Dog’s eyes are getting better with each day. Thinking of you and seined oodles of poodles healing best wishes.❤︎

Dogs do have a sense of knowing what is missing in our lives and our souls and how to remedy that. It’s like they have an ancient wisdom.

Hope all health issues go away.

I miss living near wooded areas. We’re hoping to move near one in the near future, it’s just so nice to be outside with nature, especially when you’re going through a bunch.

Dogs know a lot of things but they don’t say much and that’s probably for the good. I’m not sure I’d want Max to be out blabbering about some of the stuff he’s seen. Maybe he does hat already with other doggos but at least the neighbors don’t know. 🙂

The woods are my happy place, too. I’m hoping the pups and I can escape to them for at least a short walk this weekend. I’m sorry things have been so stressful and hectic lately! At least we’re on the downhill slope to 2018, and maybe that will be a better year for all of us!
