Pull Up A Spot of Grass

June 25, 2017 By Jodi

Yesterday, Pet Faves had a post on Facebook that asked, if your pet had a job, what would it be?  I responded with Delilah would be a taste tester, and Sampson would be a greeter at Wal-mart.

Sampson just loves people, and he makes friends everywhere we go. A couple of weeks ago, we ran into one of our ‘friends’ (Blanche) on our afternoon walk. I stopped for a quick chat, when one of Sampson’s other friends (Rich) came strolling by, so I introduced them.

After Rich left, Blanche said to me, “You know more people than I do in this neighborhood.”

And I responded with, “It’s because of him, he just loves people SO much.”

Honestly, he makes friends al over the neighborhood, and he remembers where they live.

One of his friends, who I’ve mentioned before is Mrs. Whinnem. We stop at her house every time we find her outside. She is one of Sampson’s favorites, and he will stop at least three times checking for her, if she’s not out.

That’s three times in one direction, and three times in the other.

Friday, it was a warm day, and on Sampson’s second pass, I’m not sure if he was hot, or he thought he’d simply pull up a spot of grass and wait for Mrs. Whinnem, but just after we passed her driveway, he plopped down in the grass.

And I laughed and laughed, because who knows what goes on in that handsome head of his?

Smart dog…waits for his fur-iend AND cools down his belly. Such a sweet boy. ❤︎ Happy Sunday!

That Sampson is a smart boy, either way! Our Kobi used to be like that…he loved everyone. His favorites were our elderly neighbors, and even years after they were gone, he would still slow down by their house and want to go in the yard.

Maybe he just wanted to wait for his friend? Shadow’s my people-lover. The only people she doesn’t like are the ones next door. (She won’t get snarky with them, but she starts barking the minute she sees their back door open.) They brought it on themselves years ago so I usually just let her have her say and then toss her ball to distract her a bit.

My sisters want to be greeters at Walmart too. They really should hire some dogs…customers would love it and be in better moods too.

I would shop at Walmart if Sampson were the greeter. They are missing a great idea

Sampson would be an excellent WalMart greeter! They are really the only part of trips there that I enjoy and seeing his cute face would be even better!
