You Watch Us, So We Watch You

June 20, 2017 By Jodi

The other day, my friend Sue posted a photo on Facebook of her two dogs, Shadow and Ducky laying outside the bathroom.

Ducky on the left, Shadow on the right. Photo blatantly ganked from Sue’s Facebook page.

I think I wrote something like, “You watch us, so we watch you.” And then I put the little poop emoji up.

Can someone, anyone, please tell me why WordPress doesn’t have an emoji option? Please!

I really had to laugh at Sue’s photo, because it really hits home for me. Most mornings, Delilah is either right in the bathroom with me, or waiting outside while I get ready for work.  Okay, really…she starts out in the bathroom with me, with her body between my legs, but eventually she gets tired of me climbing over her, so she goes and waits in the hall.

She’s a food driven Lab in every sense of the word. The reason she sits outside the bathroom, is because she hasn’t had her breakfast yet and she wants to make sure I don’t forget that she needs to eat.

When my kids were younger I thought I’d never get to be by myself in the bathroom until the kids were older.

Turns out I was wrong.

As long as you have kids or dogs, you’ll never get alone time in the bathroom.

Phod is my bathroom boy. He likes to come in with me.

We never hang out around the bathroom. Sometimes we may pass by if we are waiting to go for a walk, but Mom is happy we don’t sit there and wait on her.

How ironic, I posted just this morning about ‘privacy issues.’ Can’t believe I missed Sue’s post! Must check the inbox again. LOL Yeah, I think I remember that lecture in mom school. You will never have a moments peace and quiet in the bathroom if you have children or pets.
P.S. One nice thing about Apple, they realize 💩 happens. LOL

Aw, thanks for the shout-out, Jodi!

Actually, the girls were both in the bathroom with me. Shadow followed me in, and Ducky couldn’t stand the thought that she might miss out on something so she left hubby’s side to find out. LOL. These two are definitely MY dogs – they love their daddy, but it’s me they come to for reassurance and calming cuddles. The bathroom was always Callie’s favorite spot in the house, so it became Shadow’s favorite as well. I don’t even think twice about it any more. The only time I don’t let her stay in the bathroom is when I have to take a shower because she stretches out right next to the tub and there’s just not enough room for both of us.

LOL I honestly don’t remember the last time I was in the bathroom alone! Mine just want to be with me 🙂 Rudy sometimes wants to crawl in my lap.

Luke is my bathroom buddy. He makes it extra fun to have company sometimes. We have a water dish in the bathroom and he’ll go take a big drink out of it, and then come back to me and dribble it all over my lap. LOL

Ha ha! Honey can’t stand being in the bathroom with me. She is the only dog I’ve ever lived with, including all the fosters, who will not bust in on me in the bathroom.

Do you think she’s really an alien?
