The Diss

April 9, 2017 By Jodi

I’ve heard it said that dog’s can’t be jealous, but my experience tells me that is just not true.

Case in point, my dogs. When one or the other of them are getting attention from one or the other of us, the dog that is not getting the attention, can get a bit pushy.

The other day Hubby came home and as is custom, he greets the dogs. This time he greeted Sampson first, and Delilah’s nose was a bit out of joint. (She typically climbs right up in his lap as soon as he sits down.)

I made room for her on my lap (honestly, she thinks she’s a lap dog, which wouldn’t be so bad, if she would just sit still. But she wiggles, and shifts and sometimes she practically squishes me!) where she proceeded to lay against me, and seemed quite content.

Until Hubby got up off the floor and sat on the couch, at which point she immediately jumped down, and climbed up on his lap!

I definitely felt dissed. But Hubby and I still laughed about it.

I mean, a Diva knows what she wants.

What did your dogs do this week that made you laugh?

We definitely get jealous. Lots of those things they say don’t apply to every dog. Routine is routine and we don’t like changes too much.

Dogs definitely get jealous! Luke is very much so, and he even has to get in on it when hubby and I are hugging. 🙂

I agree with you – Or **maybe** it’s because the left-out pup can feel all the good vibes and want to be part of it. I wish they could tell us for sure!

How cute! (I’m sorry you were dissed, though!) This week, Rye made me laugh because I filled their Kongs and they get them pretty regularly, so this is by far not her first one, yet she keeps thinking that I should hold her Kong for her until she’s finished cleaning it all out. Such a little princess.

Who said dogs don’t get jealous? They have all the emotions humans do.

BOL…oh yeah…dogs are totally jealous when it comes to their pawrents. How funny that she loves on her dad…but at your expense. Looks like somebody is a daddy’s girl. 😇

Seems to me she was using you to make him jealous and it worked since he got up off the floor. How does it feel to be her puppet? 😉

Awww, the D-Dog certainly loves her daddy! So cute! Looks like she was in “hog heaven” as my hubby would say.

I love Jan K’s response about Luke getting in on her and hubby’s hugs! Ducky has a barking fit any time hubby and I hug or kiss each other. Maybe our pups are related somehow. 😂
