You Make Me Laugh – December 4, 2016

December 4, 2016 By Jodi

You make me laugh, (or smile.) The sweet, funny, loving things my dogs do on a daily basis that brings a smile to my face, or a laugh to my lips.

Sampson, when you smile, you smile with  your whole face. It’s so beautiful and joyful and it makes everyone that sees it, smile too.

But when you know that I’m trying to take a picture of that smile, and you hide it with your paw…

sampson-smiling

You make me laugh.

Back story.

Since his CCL injury, Sampson hasn’t gotten on the couch a lot. He just can’t manage it. But lately, he’s gotten on it a couple of times. Last Sunday night, he walked over to the couch, put his front feet up and stood there, looking at us and wagging his tail.

I said to Hubby, “He needs help.”

So Hubby went over and helped Sampson up on the couch. And then, because this dog has us wrapped around his paws, Hubby stood there petting him. And Sampson had just the biggest smile on his face, he was SO happy.

Naturally, I wanted to take a photo, but the dang dog wouldn’t cooperate!

Does anyone else have a dog that smiles?

I tend to smirk, but Bailie likes to smile. Madison…not sure about her yet. That is so sweet you help him onto the couch. It shows he knows to ask you for help, and he knows you will provide it.

We love those smiles! We have stairs going up to our couch, but we still have to coach and help the girls sometimes since they don’t love them.
All of ours smile, but Luke is the most difficult one to capture on camera doing it.

My dogs smile with their ears and like Sampson they let us know when they need our help. And hate cameras so much that I have given up.

Mom says I usually look worried. My smiles are rare. Like rainbows.

    Love and licks,

Barley smiles all day long. Rye doesn’t hold still long enough for me to know if she can smile.

Poppy does the same thing, lies completely still until I get my camera and then moves. The little madam, has even realised that I stop reaching for my camera, as she has done it to me too many times, so she lies in the cute position for ages. Lulls me into a false sense of security, so I reach for the camera and she moves. Every. Single. Time.

    He’s a cutie though

The only similarities in my house are dogs who don’t like to cooperate! 😉

It is good to hear that Sampson is doing so well. Thunder sometimes covers his face with his paw. He never did that as a youngster. Must be an old dog thing.
