You Make Me Laugh – September 18, 2016

September 18, 2016 By Jodi

You make me laugh (or smile), the sweet, funny, loving things my dogs do on a daily basis that brings a smile to my face, or a laugh to my lips.

This guy…this guy right here, he makes me laugh.

Golden Smiles

We’ve had some very hot, very humid weather for most of August and into the beginning of this month. Last week we had a front come through that took away a good bit of the humidity, making our afternoon walks, fairly tolerable.

On one of those super nice days, Sampson and I were on our way back and across the street from our house. I felt that familiar jerk on my arm, which typically indicates a good sniff is in order, or someone needs a potty break.

But when I turned around to see what had stopped him, I caught him scratching himself. And then in a moment I can only describe as complete joy, he flopped down in the grass, feet up in the air and wiggled in the grass.

When he was done scratching his back, he sat back up with this big goofy smile on his face.

Look at that smile.

Look at that smile.

How can you not laugh at that? What does your dog do on your walk that makes you laugh?

Aw, what a great story and photo! Awhile back, like you I felt that little tug and looked down at Rosie. She threw herself on her back and began rolling over and over. Like sideways summersaults. So funny!

I love that! He looks so very happy! Katie used to do things like that. Enjoy the fall weather.

Now that’s a happy dog – I love it! Cricket does the back roll & scratch just about every day when I get home from work and we head out into the yard.

Cute! Rita does the same! We don’t have grass at our house, and she considers herself to be quite the grass connoisseur so when we see nice grass on a walk, she throws herself down for a good roll. I think she especially loves it if the grass is all dewy, because it cools her down. That’s how she rolls!

Way to go, S. The only thing better than a grass back-scratch is an asphalt back-scratch.

    Love and licks,
    Cupcake

That kind of joy just can’t be beat! Those kind of happenings on walking days are the punctuation mark that makes owning a dog the absolute best. 😉 Sam never does it but the Old English sheepdogs did-it was like seeing hairy muppets with their feet reaching for the sky. Always. made. me. laugh.

Aw, that’s so sweet! He looks so adorable, too! And I think he is enjoying the warm weather as well. My little girl loves it when the sun is out because she knows she is to go outside and play.
