Why We Love Emily

August 30, 2016 By Jodi

Emily is one of the vet tech’s at our veterinarian’s office. Even before she agreed to help me out by walking the dogs while on vacation, she’s one of our favorite techs at the office.

There are SO many reasons WHY she’s one of our favorites, but one of the biggest reasons is she cares about the comfort of my dogs.

Now, I’m not saying that the other techs DON’T care, because I know they do, but Emily, Emily takes that extra step to help my dogs feel comfortable.

For instance, when my dogs go in for a procedure, Emily has been known to cuddle in the crate with them. ๐Ÿ™‚ A girl after my own heart.

And when Sampson was in a couple of weeks ago for a check up, we went in to the exam room, only to discover that Emily had made a comfy spot for him.

Comfy at the Vet

Yup, she brought a dog bed for resting and a yoga mat to help keep him from slipping.

If that weren’t enough, the text message I got from her the morning I left sealed the deal.

After I told her where I left her note (with instructions of course!) this is what I got.

Emily

That makes a Mama feel better!

How do you do when you leave your pets? I’m a damn wreck!

The first days are the hardest for mom, but then she adjusts and it is alright. She hasn’t left us really for a few years now which we love. She has left me home alone for like two days but her cousin comes to take me out and hang out with me and I don’t mind. Emily sounds like a wonderful dog sitter and vet tech!

It sounds like you found the perfect person and that at least makes it easier. My sister takes care of our kids if we both go away – she’s the only person in the world other than hubby and I that Luke loves. We don’t both go away often though. I worry no matter who they’re left with anyway, I always feel like no one knows all of their special needs like I do!

I’m usually a wreck, too, but I only leave them with my parents or with Barley’s reactive dog trainer, so I know they are in good hands! It definitely makes it easier to go away when you know someone who loves them almost like you do is taking care of them ๐Ÿ™‚

Everything reminds mom of us when we are not with her

We too spend far too much time thinking about the fur-kid when we leave, but why wouldn’t we? He’s family and that’s just what you do. So glad you have someone to take care of your kids that makes you feel if not completely at ease, at least partially relieved. Now…go enjoy yourself-Emily’s got your guy and gal covered! ๐Ÿ˜‰

Except for day trips to Charlotte to see our son and his family, we haven’t been away – together or separately – since 2008. For those day trips, I rely on the same pet sitters we’ve been using since 2006. I don’t know that I can say I’m a wreck; but I do call or text Susan at least 3 different times to check on the girls. I know she’s taking good care of them – I just call to be sure Ducky is behaving herself. LOL

It would be weird if you weren’t a wreck. That’s kind of a rule.

Emily sounds like a great person. The perfect person to trust with your dogs.
