A Little Blog Housekeeping

August 25, 2016 By Jodi

Remember that vacation I mentioned a couple weeks ago when I was looking for a dog walker? Well it’s here.

I’m excited and anxious all at the same time. Some of it is because I’m leaving these two.

Just us on Instagram

You’re leaving? Did you clear that with us first? Really, you need to get your priorities straight Mama.

And the other reason is…I’m flying and I’m really afraid of flying.

But I’m not telling you this so you can reassure me. (But I don’t mind if you do, I really don’t.) I’m telling you this because I want you to know that I more than likely will not be around to read and comment on blogs for probably the next week or so.

I’ve got a post ready for Sunday, so you don’t forget about me. πŸ™‚ And I want you to know that I won’t forget about you either! If anything exciting happens in your life, or anything happens I need to know about, instant message me on Facebook, because it may take some time until I’m caught up on my blog reading.

Also, all of you who participated in the Pet Blogger Showcase, thank you! Β And, I am sorry, but I will be late reading your entries, but don’t worry, I will be back (and ready) on the 1st Saturday in September with my picks for that week.

Also, there will be no Follow-Up Friday this week. But I did want to send a big shout out to Taryn and all the rest of you who recommended canine massage for Sampson’s leg. I think I may have found a therapist in my area, and I’ll work on that right after vacation.

In the meantime, please keep safe travels for me in your thoughts and prayers. And pray that Hubby and Emily can handle the fort while I’m away. πŸ™‚

I used to HATE flying and now I don’t mind it that much at all! As long as there isn’t a lot of turbulence I am fine! You will be too! I used to be a complete nervous wreck and now I am much, much better!!!!!!! Bring distractions with you and some headphones to listen to music! Safe travels!

Have a safe and fun trip! I’m not a huge fan of flying, either – especially takeoff!

Have a wonderful time! I went through a period when it made me nervous to think about flying, but it really is fine! Here are a few of my tips to make flying easier: 1. Dress comfortably and in layers! It seems like planes are either too warm or too cold, so be prepared for both. 2. Take a great book or magazine to help keep yourself distracted. Don’t rely on your phone or electronic device, go old school! While I love my Kindle, there is something comforting about physically turning the pages as well as the smell of printed paper. 3. While I’m too cheap to buy alcohol on the plane, there is nothing wrong with it if it will help you relax. 4. Pack snacks, preferably peanut free, so you don’t cause someone else trouble. You can never go wrong with having snacks. 5. Read the policy about carry on bags ahead of time; some airlines are restricting you to smaller sizes or just one item. When I travel alone, I like to check my bag because I’m too short to put it in the overhead bin by myself.

Have a great trip, Flying is far safer than moving on the ground. So just have a cocktail and sit back and enjoy the clouds.

Good for you! Glad you are able to get away (even though I’ll be soooo jonesing for from serious Heart Like a Dog smiles from you and your two fur-kids). Just got back from a wedding on the east coast myself so I know how impawtant it is getting away. Hope you have a blast and remember, air travel (despite how unpleasant the airlines have made it for us plebeian travelers-not so much the 1st class ones) is the only way to go. You’ll do just fine, just remember to keep breathing. Fingers and paws crossed the Hubs and Emily survive without you and all goes well. Look on the bright side, at least you won’t have to worry about him forgetting to pick up kids at day care. πŸ˜‰
