You Make Me Smile – May 15, 2016

May 15, 2016 By Jodi

You make me smile (or laugh), the sweet, funny, loving things my dogs do on a daily basis, that brings a smile to my face or a laugh to my lips.

The other day when I got home from work Delilah indicated she wanted to go outside. Typically when she does this, she goes out, does her business and comes right back in. So I was surprised when I looked outside and caught her doing this.

Sorry for the mess, the trees are dropping bud like crazy.

Sorry for the mess, the trees are dropping bud like crazy.

Sampson is usually the dog that enjoys laying out and soaking up the sun, so I was taken aback that she was out there.

I....wanna soak up the sun.

I….wanna soak up the sun.

She really seemed to be enjoying it too.

Looking out at her just flat out relaxed like that, really made me smile.

What do your pets do that make you smile?

On this 30 degree morning, that rest in the sunshine sure looks good! I guess every dog needs a sun bath now and then.

Aww gorgeous girl 😊 i love being out in the sun too, but it’s winter here and it has been raining on and off all week.

So today my partner Trevor was burning some rubbish in the yard and Merlin hid behind my legs. It makes me smile in a way cos it shows he finds comfort in being next to me.

There’s nothing like a nap in the sun, according to Ducky; unless of course you mention sunbathing while you guard your favorite toy. 🙂 Callie preferred and Shadow still prefers the morning sun – it’s not nearly as hot – and shade in the afternoon, like me. But if it’s a cool day, we all like the sun’s warmth for a little longer.

As for the “mess”? What mess?? Our yard is half dirt and half weeds with some grass scattered about here and there. As long as the dogs don’t care, why should we?

She is soaking up the vitamin D, isn’t that the sunshine vitamin or maybe communing with the Mother Ship. It looks very comfortable.

Naps in the sun are a major part of Laika’s day, and it always puts a smile on my face too. It always looks so comfortable, but when I try to join her I just get irritated by the ants & end up saying “ow my back, how do you lay like this all day…” Oh the joys of being an adult I suppose.

Every day when I would get home from work, Cricket would run to roll in the grass. Since we hadn’t had grass in the pen, I missed seeing her do that! Now that we’ve got the new fencing, I was so happy to see her out there rolling in it again. They all do it, but Cricket is the only one who does it pretty much daily!

Hey…a girl’s gotta work on her tan, doesn’t she? I mean how else can D-dog maintain that gorgeous brown body? 😉

Oh noooo Delilah is now an old dog laying in the sun. Thunder started doing that too recently. He never did it when he was younger.
