You Make Me Laugh – November 1, 2015

November 1, 2015 By Jodi

You make me laugh (or smile), the sweet, funny, loving things my dogs do on a daily basis that brings a smile to my fave or a laugh to my lips.

Sampson and Delilah, the totally opposite ways you try and work me to feed you breakfast early….

Sampson takes the subtle approach, he sticks his head on the couch and slides his body down.

Delilah perfects the Lab Death Stare.

You make me laugh.

Almost every day I walk the dogs before breakfast, and because they are deep chested dogs I make them wait for their breakfasts.

During the week I’m busy getting ready for work, but on the weekends….well lets just say the dogs have a problem with me sitting down. 🙂

Do your dogs get impatient for their food? How do they let you know they’re ready to eat?

I’m death stare all the way. Not subtle, but effective.

    Love and licks,

Not only is walking before breakfast a good thing, it also teaches us we don’t just get to eat, we have to actually work for our food. We have the same system here. Mom is usually starving herself, so we all “assume our positions” around the kitchen and wait for the “meal” to be served 🙂 We have that face Delilah and Sampson are making trying to get mom to go out for walks and runs in the morning. She always gets stuck at the computer way too long!

Callie used to bark at me when I was getting her food ready, as if to say “hurry up, Mom, I’m starving!” Shadow and Ducky both wait patiently.

I love Sampson’s “pleeeeaaaasssse Mom” begging look! It must be a killer to resist those eyes! Watch out for D-Dog’s “Labrador Death Stare”! Look at it too long and she might hypnotize you into giving Sampson’s food. 😳

Giving Sampson’s food to her is what I meant. Fingers not working this morning.

It is hard to say no to either face.

Lila likes to rest her head on my knee while I’m eating dinner. I think she’s trying to tell me she didn’t get enough to eat for her own dinner. It’s a cute gesture because she doesn’t like to cuddle very much. So, I don’t mind!

Our crew gets fed first thing in the morning, and they know Dad is the one to feed them, so they start early with licking his face and generally just flopping around on the bed trying to wake both of us up (just in case Dad doesn’t move, they know I’ll have to get up to pee…LOL).
They’re not as bad in the evening, they just get a little fidgety in order to try to get attention.

Brown dawgs eat first thing in the morning but sometimes they get impatient for that….lol.

My dogs push their bowls around the kitchen. Too much noise to ignore.

Oh, those faces! Rita is the least demanding dog I’ve ever had. She’s spoiling us. She never ever demands her breakfast, but sometimes she’ll harrumph at me if I’m late with her dinner. She’s such a funny thing.

I think we should have a Blogville Dog Death Stare contest. Delilah is definitely in the running, but I think Blueberry and many other dogs have a shot at winning too.
