You Make Me Smile – May 31, 2015

May 31, 2015 By Jodi

You make me smile (or laugh), the sweet, funny, loving things my dogs do on a daily basis that brings a smile to my face, or a laugh to my lips

Sampson, the way you insist on the couch being ‘naked’ with no sheets to protect it….

Dogs make me smile

.

You make me smile.

Notice how the sheet has been pulled down beginning on the side he sleeps on. I don’t know why, but for some reason, he does not like the sheet. Of course, I and the couch would prefer it as it is much easier to clean when it’s been covered. 🙂

Are your pets allowed on the furniture? Do you insist on a covering and do they comply?

My dog, Cody, is not allowed on the couch. Our couch is leather and I couldn’t bear to see it covered in scratches from when he jumps up on to it! Very cute photo, by the way!

I’m allowed on the sofa. I’m OK with a cover on there. I’m also allowed on the leather chair. It has no cover, so I have scratched the heck out of it by jumping, sliding, and digging. It is called FURniture for a reason.

    Love and licks,
    Cupcake

Bailie always takes covers off things too, but we aren’t on the furniture, so no experience there. Great seeing you and thanks for helping out last night! Safe travels home.

We have a “dog couch” – meaning the dogs know they’re allowed on it, but not the rest of the furniture. Except the beds. Rudy fancies himself some kind of interior designer. He removes the comforters and blankets by sort of twisting them into a mountain. Then he lays down on the sheets. Thankfully, he doesn’t do this too often and looks very sheepish when caught.

WE can’t Jump high enough to get on the furniture… BY OURSELVES…. so Mom or Dad have to Boost us up…. Guess that means that we ARE allowed to be on there…

hmm, maybe he doesn’t like it when the sheet moves and gets wrinkly, or he just likes pushing it off: )

Cute! Rita likes to sleep naked, but she doesn’t get to sleep on the naked couch. We put a blankie on her corner of the couch and she knows she’s supposed to stay on her blankie. She actually really loves the blankie itself, and we can sometimes coax her over to snuggle us by displaying her blankie to her and inviting her over. 🙂

Blueberry is the opposite of Sampson. A sheet has to be up there or I get a woeful look and she doesn’t want to be on the sofa. I can’t blame her, the sofa material is harsh and doesn’t look as soft as your naked sofa.

Ha! Love it! I always say, if you want nice things, don’t own dogs lol!

Aww that reminds me of Laika; sometimes she removes everything from the couch (including pillows) yet other nights she snuggles on 2 blankets sprawled across all the pillows. I don’t get it, I used to assume it might be a weather thing but now I’m just convinced dogs are weird.

Our furniture is so old it doesn’t matter; but my dogs have always been allowed on furniture — from the first poodle we got when I was 5, to Ducky and future dogs — that’s the way I was brought up.

We throw a sheet over the bed at night to keep the quilt clean, and Cricket will spend 10 minutes trying to get it out of her way!

Pfft…Sam will sometimes allow ME on the furniture! BOL As for your sheet issue-one word. Leather. 🙂
