A Post About Nothing

April 22, 2015 By Jodi

This is a blog post about nothing.  As of right now, I’ve lost my Mojo, so I figured if Seinfield can have a show about nothing, I can do the same thing with a blog post. Here goes.

Rainy Days and Mondays

The nice warm weather we had last week was replaced Monday with a cold wet rain.  (Thanks a lot for sending your crappy weather my way, Sue.)

Of course the Dastardly Duo want a walk rain or shine.  Monday’s was a cold, raw rain, so I broke out the flannel lined jeans and my boots.  Nothing says spring like marching in the cold wet rain with boots and gloves on.

Since I had the song, “Rainy Days and Mondays” stuck in my head, I took some pictures of the dogs in all their wetness.

Hanging around, nothing to do but frown, rainy days and wet dogs always get me down.

Golden Lab

Thank DOG she didn’t break out our boots. I’ve had enough humiliation for one week.

Chocolate Lab

What are you whining about? You’re wearing a raincoat.

Golden Lab

What pray tell is the issue with a wet dog smell?  It smells awesome and makes our fur super soft.

That’s as far as I got.  When I sat down to write the post, the words just wouldn’t come.

I looked to my dogs for inspiration, nothing.

Flipped through some pictures, still nothing.

I decided I’d pass on Rainy Days and Mondays and make a WTF Wednesday post.

You've heard this one right?

WTF?

I really wanted to skewer the Texas veterinarian who killed the cat with the bow and arrow, but honestly my WTF posts are supposed to be funny and I just couldn’t find any way to put some humor in that situation.

So I wrote a post about nothing, that has absolutely no humor in it whatsoever.

But I wrote and hopefully my Mojo is not lost, just taking a sabbatical and I’ll find it soon.

What do you do when the words just won’t come?

Words are overrated. When they disappear, I don’t worry. They always come back. With those critter faces at your house, you can post a few pictures without a syllable to accompany them and you’ll STILL make us smile!

Mom hangs out with me, goes for a walk or run and something always pops up. Hopefully you will get it back quickly! Mom was stuck with two wet dogs in the car for five hours on Sunday night, so she is quite familiar with wet dog smell. We had our last ORT and it was pouring. Since we did clove, we were at the very end but had to be there for the entire thing and naturally had to get out to potty in the rain early on 🙂 thus wet dog smell.

I swear it wasn’t me! I wouldn’t wish that crappy weather WE had Monday on a friend! 🙁 It was beautiful here, yesterday – I’ll try to send you some of it! 🙂

Maybe find an old post you liked and update it a little?

Pictures work for posts when you are stuck and you got some good ones. 🙂

The weather can wreck havoc inside my head. Rainy days and the sunshine gone could make a person do crazy things – like not have ideas for a post!!
I agree with 2 Brown Dawgs – you can never go wrong with pictures of dogs, we all love to see them.

It’ll all return, it always does. When you have a ‘voice’ for sharing stories about sweet and crazy fur babies it may go MIA for a bit but always manages to regain that tone. I actually thought this post had a lot to say and the photos were cleverly titled, so ‘gold’ star for you ★ (please use your imagination on the color and whether you interpret your star with glittery sparkle). 🙂 Yeah, now about those cold wet mornings when gloves and jackets are needed…I’m with you…blech!

My mojo is slightly on hold too. I’m not feeling very good and that doesn’t help. I scraped together a post yesterday, scheduled it for this morning, and this morning there was nothing there. POOF!

Monday was the worst! I give you credit though….I got home from work and told the dogs we were having a rest day. I refused to get out my gloves and flannel pants. I’m so done with that. We had had a busy weekend though with extra play time so I didn’t feel too bad about it.
I also usually find a good walk will clear my head and bring on inspiration, but honestly, so far I haven’t seemed to run out of stuff to say. Probably because I’m a very quiet person, so it builds up inside my head. LOL

I give you a lot of credit for going out in the rain. Yea I wasn’t too happy with that vet either it was a WTF moment. Hope your mojo comes back and you make us laugh again.

Oh, and I third/quad/however many other people spoke about here the sentiments about that vet in Texas. I mean really…who grows up that broken?

A post about nothing is just fine…but check our Monday post because we wrote about wet dog smell…

Well, my girl, it looks like you’ve done it. You just put something out in the universe and wait to see what comes back.

The crazy thing is that I find that some of my “I ain’t got no mojo” posts get the biggest response. And stuff I absolutely love gets crickets. 🙂

BTW, we got snow. Does that make you feel any better?

As you can tell by the bald patches in my blog’s timestamps, I’ve been struggling with this for a while and totally get how you feel. Lately, when I know I need to post about something and just haven’t, I’ve just been making myself trudge through the post (i.e. Fulton’s introduction post), knowing that I can go back and edit it later. I figure if I can keep myself going and posting, the inspiration will start to flow again.

It’s the worst feeling when you find yourself at a loss for words, isn’t it? But you’ve got great photos and an amazing sketch that I find quite entertaining. And yeah I can’t think of any humor in that crazy lady vet that shot the cat either.
