Damn I Wish I’d Gotten THAT on Video

March 23, 2015 By Jodi

I’ve always joked it would be fun, or at the very least amusing, for Delilah to have her own reality show.

The road is cold and hard, a nice bit of grass to sit on would be nice.

Where is the Pupparatzi?  Is that them over there?  Do I need to get a head shot for my portfolio?

I mean, imagine capturing the moment she ate 3 full sticks of butter, wrappers and all.

Who would be able to forget the episode where she ate four cups of packing peanuts, and then had such bad gas and she lay in bed, farting against my leg?

Envision the gasps of horror, the time she cleaned the yard up so well, she came in and vomited, effectively clearing the house.  (It took me days to get the smell out.)

I wish a camera had captured the look on my face, the day she was got so excited when Hubby came home that she jumped like a cat into the front window and sat there waiting, and the way I laughed until the tears ran down my face.

Or how freaked out I was the day she ingested a bunch of my supplements and I had to make her vomit.

Or how surprised I was when she pooped the colored pencils.

Yes, Delilah has always been a wild and crazy dog.

And while she has calmed down a whole lot in recent years, there are still times when she does something that takes us by surprise and makes us laugh.

Like last night. Hubby and I eat in front of the TV.  The dogs are asked to lie on mats in the living room, but once we release them Delilah runs into the kitchen to provide clean up duty.

From my position on the couch, I could see her, paws up on the counter.

“Delilah, get off the counter,” I said.

“Delilah, come on!” Hubby called.

In walked Delilah, head down.

She walked past her bed, and right in front of Hubby and I, she spit a butter knife on to the floor.

Damn I wish I’d gotten THAT on video.  Hubby and I laughed and laughed, who could have seen that coming?

Has your dog ever taken you by surprise like that? Would you watch a reality show starring a dog?

So wish we had a camera at the ready so many times too as likewise missed so many funny moments. Have a marvellous Monday.
    Best wishes Molly

Gah! Butter knife! Delicious choice, D. Well done. You are a gold medal winning counter surfer. Mom laughs her head off when she is in the kitchen and hears running, sliding, banging, and squeaking coming from the living room. When she peeks in, she sees me playing with 3 or 4 toys at once – zooming and jumping on and off the couch and chair and throwing toys to myself along the way. She calls it playing with the jackasses in my head.

    Love and licks,
    Cupcake

We get older and things slow down a bit, but old habits never completely die. Katie always loved to play catch me with Mom if she was off leash. Now she can’t really run more than a few yards and is slow, but wouldn’t you know. Mom let her off leash to visit a friend and she tried the catch me crap. A dog who has issues even walking, but the mischief is still in her mind. Mom humored her and pretended to chase her a bit before leashing her up. Delilah will always be a goofy thief!

I’m not normally a fan of “reality tv”, but if Delilah were the star I would definitely watch the show faithfully! It’s probably the ONLY show I would watch these days!

I think a reality show like that would be hysterical! Delilah sure is a character – you don’t need TV, just watch her! 😉 We often say we wish we had shoulder cams like cops do so we could record all those who-saw-THAT-coming moments of Daisy’s. The best stuff never makes it to the camera. 🙂

I’m sure Go-Pro cameras were created especially for characters like D-Dog! 🙂

I’d absolutely watch that! Delilah would make an amazing starlet, and her show would be a lot more interesting and intelligent than much of what’s on TV. Dogs who are the opposite of “picky eater” are truly some of the most entertaining.

I think a reality show with dogs would be far more entertaining than the stuff that’s on TV now!

Our beagle Kobi was never really a big mischief maker, but the time he spit out a dead mouse at my feet was definitely a classic!

What a silly pup! A reality show would be fun!

I would definitely watch. My dogs are pretty dull and boring, but Delilah would attract quite an audience of faithful watchers.

Holy cow, glad it was just a butter knife and not a real one. Gambler has gotten a hold of real ones and lucky he didn’t get hurt.

So was Delilah saying…… “Come on you two… SPREAD that food around” ?

    Dear Miss D,
I was very, very bored one day because Mom & Dad weren’t playing with me so I was looking for something to do. My favorite pastime is ripping Kleenex to shreds. So I put my front paws up on the coffee table where they are kept and Mom yelled at me to get down. I waited until they weren’t looking and jumped up ON THE COFFEE TABLE. Boy did that get a response out of Mom, I just stood there while Mom turned RED and Dad was gasping from trying NOT TO LAUGH. Boy I don’t know who Mom was more mad at ME or Dad. bol bol bol .
    Pepper
P.S. No Kleenex were harmed in this act of crazy puppyness 😀

Delilah probably could have her own show and provide countless hours of entertainment…lol.
