You Make Me Smile – May 18, 2014

May 18, 2014 By Jodi

You make me smile…the sweet, funny, silly things my dogs do on a daily basis, that brings a smile to my face or a laugh to my lips.

Can you guess what’s making me smile today?  I’ll give you a hint.

Why are you taking my picture here?

Why are you taking my picture here?

Yesterday at Sampson’s physical therapy appointment, she said it would be okay to walk Sampson in the park, as long as we stayed on the gravel path.  SO yes, Sampson is in one of his favorite places, his park.

Seeing him so happy in a place he really loves, makes me smile.

Mama, there are so many things to sniff, please let me up.

Mama, there are so many things to sniff, please let me up.

I was a little nervous, mostly that we might run into an off-leash dog and he could get hurt, so I will take him to the park cautiously, but it’s nice to have the option again.

Has your pet ever met a milestone that made you smile?

Oh, I do SO understand! When the surgeon gave me the okay to give Callie back her freedom in the back yard last year, I couldn’t wait to get her home so she and Shadow and I could play again. And watching her enjoy that freedom still makes me smile.

Sampson does look so happy. Maybe you can relax a little bit and drop your shoulders. That is easier said than done when we worry so much about our babies. It sure seems to be a step in the right direction for sweet Sampson!
Watching Gussie run with pure joy makes me smile. One of the things he does that warms my heart is the fact that he wants his Daddy to watch him play ball and tell him what a wonderful job he does at catching the ball! He will only allow me to throw the ball, but he will look at the backdoor waiting for my husband to come out and watch and praise him. Then he will just gallop. He looks to my husband each time he catches the ball on the first try. If it takes a couple of bounces, Gus will not look at him, but waits for the next catch. Isn’t that a hoot?!

Every milestone my furbabies make, makes me smile, of course the best ones for us are when they are young and finally get the potty training thing……phew! That makes me smile!

Watching BD play, properly play, with some collie dogs made me cry with happiness. It was such a special moment that I will treasure forever. I worry that now I don’t have him as often we will make small steps back and I will never be in that place with him again

I’m so happy for you and Sampson! And glad you didn’t run into any trouble makers. (Clueless owners of offleash dogs, that is.)
