You Make Me Smile – March 9, 2014

March 9, 2014 By Jodi

You make me smile.  The funny, sweet and loving things my dogs do that make me smile or laugh on a daily basis.

This picture was yesterday morning.  To set the scene, when I get up in the mornings I put the dog’s breakfast of chicken necks in a bit of warm water to take the chill off them.   Typically I put the bowls in the microwave while I get dressed for work, but yesterday as I was putzing about the house, I set them on the counter.  I was a bit concerned about Delilah getting at them, so I made her follow me around.

As it turned out, I didn’t need to.

Sampson, when you guard your breakfast to prevent Delilah from stealing it….

Food Guard Not only do you make me proud, you make me smile.  And I may have giggled a little too.

Isn’t that the cutest thing?  What has your baby done to make you smile?

Love your guard dog! My mom puts our bowls on the counter while she gets ready to feed us. Cat bro Bert will eat anything including dog food, so he likes to jump up and help himself to our food. We dogs weren’t born yesterday, so now Katie and Bailie stand guard like that in front of the counter where the bowls are. If the cat jumps there, they either attempt to intercept him mid jump or they go find Mom to alert her. Works pretty well.

Good job, Sampson! My story is about the same as Emma’s…in the morning my hubby gets out treats to give the dogs when we leave for work, and he sets them on the counter. Our cat Samantha will steal them given a chance. So very often, Cricket will sit and guard them and will let Dad know if Sam is getting into them!

LOL, he’s the perfect guard dog. Torrey makes me smile when she is so polite. She waits her turn for treats instead of charging in.

Smart boy! Guarding the bowls! I’m hoping to someday grow tall enough to steal food from the counter….

That is a definite advantage to having a large body.

That is very cute, he is the guard! Good boy Sampson. Gambler made me smile today when he ran around the house rooing at John when he came in from being outside.

Oh tons of things they do make me smile! As well as make me angry! hahahaha!!!!
I love when I am telling Koda “no” for something, and then all the sudden he starts talking back to me! Starts howling and everything else, you just have to smile and reach out and pet his furry little self! hahaha! And suddenly you don’t even know why you were saying “no” to begin with.
