You Make Me Smile – February 23, 2014

February 23, 2014 By Jodi

You make me smile (or laugh.)  The funny, silly, loving things my dogs do on a daily basis that bring a smile to my face or a laugh to my lips.

Sampson and Delilah, when you are sitting side-by-side and simultaneously turn you head in response to a sound…

Sam and Dee You make me smile.

Your turn, what funny, silly or loving things do your dogs do that make you smile?

Cupcake has this weird way of staring straight ahead when she’s in trouble. She listens to me talking to her, but I guess she thinks if she doesn’t look at me I’m not there. Or maybe she thinks if she doesn’t look at me, I can’t see her. But I AM there and I CAN see her! Ugh!

When my mom and dad sit down to have a cup of coffee in the afternoon, I place myself by the end of the table, because I want cookies. I only do this at coffee time, not eating time. I’ll have to tell you though, I love cookies.

Our golden retriever Sheba and her late brother Moses used to do things like that all the time. I once posted a photo called “In Sync” where they were waiting for me to throw the ball and standing in the exact same position.
This morning I’m smiling because Cricket and Luke are outside running around and wrestling…having a yahoo time!

Mom likes the funny sounds us hounds make. We groan and grumble and moan, sometimes in our sleep, sometimes when are awake. We always let it be known how we feel.

Sometimes dogs turn their heads to hear something beyond the range of human ears. That is such a cute picture.

Cute! Photos are always great when the dogs look in the same direction. Maya and Pierson do this great trick I call synchronized spinning. They both know the turn around trick where they turn in a circle for a treat. So now whenever I get out the treats, they both automatically start spinning.

My one husky sleeps like she is a professional contortionist!!!! I have no clue how she gets in the position, but she is always like that while she sleeps!!!! Always makes me smile!

When a doorbell rings on the TV, they bark like maniacs and run to the door at our house. Silly dogs!

Love the synchronized surveillance! Rita did something funny last night. She was outside barking her fool head off – I’m pretty sure at the neighbor’s cat. We called her in, but she wouldn’t come. Then she started shrieking!! My hubs ran out to see what was going on and she came FLYING into the house, looking for momma! I’m pretty sure the cat just ran at her or hissed at her, since I’ve seen that go down before. You should hear her scream… She acts like a tough girl, but she’s really a HUGE chicken and a terrible drama queen!

Luke lifted his leg to pee, with all the snow. And fell over on his side…wet my pants funny. 🙂

That is a great photo of your two furkids in synch. My new little boy talks each morning until I get out of bed. It really is “come on, Mum get up”. Thanks for this brilliant blog.

That is adorable! My dogs do that all the time but I can never manage to catch it on camera. Thanks for the smile!

Am just passing on something I just found out – dogs can get hypothyroidism just like us. It can change their behaviour so they may need medication not training. if your dog has lethargy, skin / hair issues or unexplained weight gain, see your vet about getting the blood tests done.
