You Make Me Smile – October 6, 2013

October 6, 2013 By Jodi

One of the big reasons I started this blog was for all the crazy, funny things my dogs do that bring a smile to my face or a laugh to my lips.

Sometimes it’s not easy to write a full blog post about it and sometimes I forget to share.

Some posts will be You Make Me Laugh and others will be You Make Me Smile, but they will all be the silly, sweet, funny things Sampson and Delilah do that help make crazy days just a little bit easier.

Feel free to share what your pet does to make you laugh/smile in the comments.

PicMonkey Collage-Digging

Sampson, when you dig so deep that you can stick your head inside the hole and then come up covered in dirt

10.5.13 005-PIC smiling from ear to ear; you make me smile.

Does digging make your dog smile?

Have a peaceful Sunday.

Sometimes I try to dig a hole on Mom’s bed to make the covers just right. Sampson has a great dirty face smile!

Luckily for Mom we are not diggers. I used to dig in the sand on the beach as a puppy, but that is about the extent of it. Not sure why we don’t dig…maybe we should start despite how Mom feels about it?

All my girls make me smile — and laugh — when they run the fence with our neighbors’ dogs, Alex and Gatsby. Especially Ducky. When I watch her run with the boys, it reminds me of Callie and Shadow when they were youngsters and how much fun they had playing together in the yard and in the house.

I love, love, love when their eyes are closed and it looks like they’re chuckling or smiling!
Great digging, Sampson! Ours only dig when the mood strikes them, which is pretty rare, actually… it’s kind of odd, since Dachshunds are known to be diggers. We don’t have a perfectly manicured lawn, so we wouldn’t really care if they dug… but we might be nervous of what they might find and try to eat.

Cute smiley photo! Luckily Rita doesn’t really dig, but she digs at her bed every night. I was actually just googling why dogs do that last night and thinking of doing a post about it. 🙂

Gizmo was a major digger as a young pup…worked hard to break him of that, as his favorite digging spots were in the garden beds…Love Love Samson’s face and huge smile here…Happy Sunday!

    Omigoodness! That’s a huge hole!

Lemme see … my dogs make me smile when … when they beg to be let on the bed or the couch. And when … they chase bunnies. And when … the duck bites them and chases them around the yard.

Did you ever get the giggles with your dog? We had a giggle session on the couch last night and it ended up with us both on the floor. That was a BIG laugh!

Yes digging makes my dog smile! Watching him sniff the dirt like a chef smells a gourmet dish makes ME smile. He’s such a lovable nut.
