You Make Me Smile, Then You Make Me Laugh

September 15, 2013 By Jodi

One of the big reasons I started this blog was for all the crazy, funny things my dogs do that bring a smile to my face or a laugh to my lips.

Sometimes it’s not easy to write a full blog post about it and sometimes I forget to share.

Some posts will be You Make Me Laugh and others will be You Make Me Smile, but they will all be the silly, sweet, funny things Sampson and Delilah do that help make crazy days just a little bit easier.

Feel free to share what your pet does to make you laugh/smile in the comments.

9-15-13 007 Sampson, you make me smile when you go way off into the woods so you can have some privacy to ‘do your business.’

9-15-13 008 You make me laugh when you’re finished and you dash out of the woods and race the wind, like you’ve just been shot out of a cannon.

Do you have a dog that digs privacy when they poop? Β Or is yours more like Delilah who will go wherever the urge hits her?

Happy Sunday!

Privacy?? What’s that? I live for people to look at me.

Haha love the shooting out of cannon. Mabe it really stunk so had to get away fast. Mine don’t care where they poop.

LOL Titan is very private and will one pooh in his yard. In 3 years, he has never done it anywhere else. He will also wait until you are either out of the yard or not looking in his direction. Very private guy. Now for peeing, he’ll cock his leg anywhere! πŸ˜‰ Very cute! BTW, do you babies do that kick back after they pooh and then going running like a bat outta he**? πŸ™‚

I have both! Shadow is the one who craves privacy in the privvy; Callie and Ducky couldn’t care less about privacy. πŸ™‚

Zaphod does the same thing! It always makes me laugh too!

I could care less, if I need to poop, I just do it, but Katie is a bit shy and if someone else besides Mom is walking her, sometimes she won’t poop for two days…she is shy.

Austin is an “urgent pooper”, so no time for privacy. He doesn’t have loose stools or anything… in fact, they’re the exact opposite. But we’ll let him out the door, he’ll walk a little bit, and then “OMD, I have to poop right now… NOW!”
Li’l Girl goes wherever… she doesn’t seem care about privacy. And yes, she always launches away from it directly afterwards. So funny! I never knew any other dog to do that, so I’m glad to hear that Sampson also rockets away from his business, lol.

Torrey will go off behind a bush, but if we are walking, it can be right in the middle of the road. Roxy likes privacy for sure.

It seems that every dog I’ve ever been around has their own style of pooping. Have to wonder if they learned this or if it is in their DNA.

Princess will just go when she has to, doesn’t care if I watch!! hahaha

Before our yard was fenced in, one dog we had then always went down into the woods to do her business. The three we have now don’t have that option and they go just about anywhere. But when we are on walks, they always at least get off the trail to go!

Haha! Moses does the same thing and it makes me laugh too! Especially when he high-tails it back.

How funny πŸ˜€ Neither of my dogs care who is watching. Maya, though, sometimes has a pathetic look on her face when I give her the command to go potty but she doesn’t have to go. She has a potty command because I have to pick up her poop before Pierson eats it.

Leah is a privacy dog. Toby could go anywhere. And Meadow is an “I’ll hold it until we take a walk” dog, which means, ALWAYS bring a blue baggie.

My sides hurt laughing…a blog about dogs pooping! Yay! I have a ritual about it. I must find “the” spot by the back fence, then walk away, turn around and go back to it, then turn a few times, then squat. No messing about like my Sister did. I leave a huge pile then amble away. No launching here.

LOL I guess Sampson comes out of the woods a little lighter on his feet. πŸ™‚ It is cute that he wants his privacy.

So funny. Rita used to be VERY shy about pooping and peeing. She’s better about it now, but for ages at the beach, she would run into the center of these low little bushes they have there (that are few and far between). Her little head would be sticking out of hte center of the bushes – it was very obvious what she was doing, but she liked her “privacy”! Too bad I didn’t get a photo of it! (I think?)

Patches can be in the backyard for twenty minutes, do her business, whatever, but as soon as I open the backdoor, she starts to poop. Honestly, I think half the time she’s pretending so I’ll go back in and she can stay outside. She’s so much like a three year old child.

Guess all my dogs are exhibitionists these days. Nobody needs privacy. However, Rosie does the same cute thing Lucy used to do: poop, just a little kick-kick, then literally dances away πŸ™‚
