You Make Me Smile – August 11, 2013

August 11, 2013 By Jodi

One of the big reasons I started this blog was for all the crazy, funny things my dogs do that bring a smile to my face or a laugh to my lips.

Sometimes it’s not easy to write a full blog post about it and sometimes I forget to share.

Some posts will be You Make Me Laugh and others will be You Make Me Smile, but they will all be the silly, sweet, funny things Sampson and Delilah do that help make crazy days just a little bit easier.

Feel free to share what your pet does to make you laugh/smile in the comments.

Sampson, when you run ahead to greet the morning sun rising up over the field – you make me smile.

Your turn, what does your dog do that makes you smile?

Sometimes when I wake up in the morning Winston is lying on the pillow with his head on my shoulder. This always makes me smile.

He looks so cute, but his breathe is pretty bad. We can’t have it all can we?

We make our mom smile when we Play Together in the evenings… Sometimes we play tug of war and or KEEP AWAY… and sometimes we just wrestle with each other.. they all make her smile…

Now that my sister is older, she makes Mom smile by acting like a puppy for a few minutes now and then. Me, she says I constantly make her smile and laugh because all she has to do is look at me and I am goofy. I hope that isn’t a bad thing, but it is how I am. I would be ideal for anyone suffering from depression for sure!

Sometimes my dignified dogs forget they are dogs and will suddenly revert to being playful puppies. I think they are trying to keep me from wanting a playful puppy for them to compete with.

I just posted something on my Facebook author page earlier today – when Rita wags her tail in her sleep, it makes me smile. 🙂

I made Mom laugh yesterday when a friend of hers brought her 20 month old daughter over to visit. I kissed her and kissed her and when I ran out of places to kiss, I kissed her eyeballs. She loved it. Me too.

    Love and licks,

Beautiful photo! My dogs Maya & Pierson make me smile all day long. But their silliest stuff happens at mealtime or when I open the cupboard with their treats in it. If I just stand there with a treat, they automatically do the ‘turn around’ trick, which is a clockwise spin. If I don’t respond, they turn in the opposite direction. At breakfast or dinner time they do the spins, but then I make them sit and stay while I fill up their bowls. Such good dogs!

Our Maggie is a rescue dog who has been part of our family for 11 years. Because of her, we double check when our cell phone batteries are running low. If, during the night, one of our phones gives a warning beep, Maggie races into our room, jumps up on the bed with us to let us know.

Your post made me smile (especially the picture)!

I smile when Elka picks up a toy and comes wiggle walking to greet somebody when they’ve come home, or if they’ve just gotten up in the morning.

When I’m sitting on the couch and using my laptop, he walks up, wags the whole rear end of his body thumping everything around him, has a little grin and twinkle in his eye, and very gently climbs in my lap, positioning himself between me and laptop. He’s a 70 pound lab. He makes me laugh. It’s like he says, “Pet the dog not the computer!”

Wow!!! What a beautiful picture of your fur babies!! One of the many ways Taylor makes both Jeremy and I smile is how she gives us her wiggle-butt dance whenever we come home from work…or come home with a new dog toy! 😉
