LBD

July 10, 2013 By Jodi

LBD – (Life Before Delilah) Sampson use to enjoy pork roll raw hide treat.  When Delilah joined us we extended the habit to her as well.

Unfortunately Delilah’s idea of eating this treat was to woof it down as fast as she possibly could. After watching her struggle to swallow a huge piece, panicking wondering if a person could actually perform the Heimlich Maneuver on a dog (you can) and then watching her use her paw to dig it out of her mouth too many times, we switched treats.

BESIDES this treat is made from a whole bunch of stuff I can’t pronounce and from a dog food manufacturer who refuses to recall their China-made-dog-killing treats.

ANYHOW...

We would giggle watching Sampson with this treat because many times he would take it in his mouth like a stogie.

Edith, get me a beer!

“Nnng-you dirty ra-at, you killed my brother.”

Isn’t that cute?  How do you think I did with the caption?  Would you caption it differently?

Great picture! Sampson is adorable. I’m not good with captions but I think yours is perfect!

Ha ha – you did just fine. Often a very good thing to avoid China-made animal foodstuffs until their quality control improves or even exists.

We have different treats because me sister wolfs down hers and Mom has to pull it out of her throat sometimes, so we each have our own kind. Love the cigar photo!

Love the picture, love the caption, and love Sampson — and Delilah too! I can almost imagine Sampson laying on the floor at Jimmy Cagney’s feet! 🙂

We have the same problem. I’ve had to deprive three dogs of something they like because one dog scares me. I’m still searching for a compromise that works.

Adorable photo! Reminded me… when Tucker was a puppy he had a little rubber pipe (like you smoke tobacco in) and he’d run around the house with the stem in his mouth… looked like he was smoking 🙂

I Looooooove your caption. It’s very believable.

Honey likes to walk around with a Nylabone hanging out of her mouth. And it’s such an odd fit because she’s so pretty and dainty.

It’s definitely Jimmy Cagney…I remember having my arm down a Lab’s throat to the elbow pulling out a whole meatball that got stuck…It’s amazing what they’ll try to swallow

Really, my only other “cigar caption” would be Will Smith’s “Welcome to Earth” from Independence Day.
