You Make Me Smile – June 30, 2013

June 30, 2013 By Jodi

One of the big reasons I started this blog was for all the crazy, funny things my dogs do that bring a smile to my face or a laugh to my lips.

Sometimes it’s not easy to write a full blog post about it and sometimes I forget to share.

Some posts will be You Make Me Laugh and others will be You Make Me Smile, but they will all be the silly, sweet, funny things Sampson and Delilah do that help make crazy days just a little bit easier.

Feel free to share what your pet does to make you laugh/smile in the comments.

Roo Roo Roo

If the video doesn’t work, click here.

How can you hear that and not smile, knowing the welcome you are about to receive?Β  How do your pets welcome you home?

Happy dogs. Love the roofing. Mine welcome me home by jumping up on me and slamming me…all three of them. Norman stands aside and waits for his pets. Gambler grabs something and Roo’s when john comes home.

That sounds like a very hearty welcome home from a cow! I love it!

When I come home, Cupcake looks at me from wherever she is sitting with a look that says, “Hello. You seem nice. Have we met?” I swear she forgets who I am when I’m gone!

Such a small arroooo for a dog that size. I have a huge powerful one…sounds like it comes from a 200 lb dog but no matter, those greetings any dog gives when their humans return home are priceless πŸ™‚

I LOVE Sampson’s greeting! All wags and wiggles!! Shadow makes me laugh when she starts howling out in the yard — usually when a train goes through up the road, or a police, fire, or ambulance siren starts — just the sound cracks me up. Then, if the dogs next door are out they join in and it turns into a concert. I’ll have to find one of the videos I took and post it one of these days.
Have you ever considered turning this “You Make Me Smile/You Make Me Laugh” into a blog hop?

There is no welcoming committee, brass band or parade that can make me feel as important as the happy dance of a dog, or four, when I return home from so many doggie minutes apart. Mine is silent though, no aroooo…

Cute! Love the little smile on his face too. Rita doesn’t make too much noise – just wiggles and waggles and we run to the sofa together where she flops upside down and wiggles and waggles some more. So cute.

Cheyenne barks, barks, barks and barks some more, Riva barks, smiles and spins around, Maia barks and jumps up and down, Titan is the quiet one of the bunch but is wiggley πŸ™‚

I hear the same kind of welcome home too, and it always makes me forget the long drive home and anything that happened during the day!

Litchi does a “pronk” like a Springbok. Maybe it’s because the first animals she met when I got her were my Springbok. Silly girl, she manages to jump straight up, all 4 paws off the ground at exactly the same time.

That is so lovely! Typists dogs has two very different stypes, he cairn goes crazy running everywhere and his bum waggles back and forth he is wagging so hard, her collie lifts his head waggs on tail and looks as if to say you are home, now love me!

    Aww, how sweet.

Silas has learned to wait for me to come to him, but he impatiently pats his tail the whole time.

    That’s a great welcome buddy! πŸ™‚

I give different people different welcomes, Dad gets way more fuss than Mum – I usually have to give mum a sniff over as well as a welcome as if anyone’s gonna be disloyal whilst they’re out I’m pretty certain it will be mum! πŸ™‚

    Have a fun day,

    Your pal Snoopy πŸ™‚

Honey is a silent greeter (of course she usually has a toy in her mouth). But I really miss such an exuberant greeting. If I had a cell phone, I’d definitely want Sampson’s Roo Roo Roo as my ring tone. πŸ™‚

LOVE that video! Sampson has such a deep voice πŸ™‚ Our 3 talk under the breaths with a few nice woofs thrown in while they wiggle themselves into a frenzy.
