Tasty Tuesday 11-13-13

November 13, 2012 By Jodi

This is the Tasty Tuesday Blog hop hosted by Kol’s Notes and Sugar the Golden Retriever.

If you’re looking for a delicious or easy recipe to make treats for your dog, you should hop along to the next post, because I’m not sharing a recipe with you today.

What I do want to share with you is a treat I’ve recently discovered that my dogs will jump through hoops for.

It’s grain free.

It’s tasty (yes, they wouldn’t be jumping through hoops for something that didn’t taste good.)

It’s inexpensive.

It’s fairly healthy for them. I say fairly because after I read the ingredients I realized there’s cane sugar in them.Β  But it’s organic cane sugar. πŸ˜‰

I found it quite by accident.Β  I had actually bought them for Hubby and I to snack on, but we didn’t care for this particular brand.

It’s banana chips!

I bought a giant bag at my local warehouse for about $5.99, I’ve been rocking it in my treat bag on off-leash hikes, around the block walks and any time I need a tasty treat.

Not to dis the brand or anything, they just don’t have the flavor that Trader Joe’s has. πŸ™‚

They’re easy to carry, easy to break and they don’t make too much of a mess.

Did I mention the dogs love them?

Why yes, I’ll sit for a banana chip. Anything else you’d like me to do?

Have you ever discovered a treat your dog loves quite by accident?

Did I mention this is the Tasty Tuesday blog hop?Β  Hop along and get some great recipes.

My word count is 15,951

REMINDER: THE DEADLINE FOR CALENDAR PHOTO SUBMISSIONS IS TONIGHT AT MIDNIGHT.

Banana Chips! Yum! I’m always searching for something that Cupcake will chew. She likes to swallow things whole. It’s always a delicate balance to find things that are big enough to force her to chew and small enough not to make her fat. I’ll definitely try these.

I bet we would love them because we love bananas – we share one with mom every morning! Our favorite treats are the ones at Trader Joes. Mom says they are fairly healthy for store bought treats. Of course, baking is my ultimate favorite!

We love bananas so I know we would like banana chips! That is a great idea! I’m sure our mom never thought of giving us banana chips until she read your post! Have a great day!

They look good. We discovered that I like marmite which really is a love it or hate yeast spread. I love it. Have a terrific Tueday Jodi.
    Best wishes Molly

I bet Cali would love those – she can hear a banana being peeled from across the house! She has also been enjoying cucumbers lately. I think she would eat just about anything we give her (except lettuce!).

Great tip – we’ll have to try it on our dogs.

That is a wonderful idea and from the photo, I can see they love it!
I wonder whether I could dry some banana slices… [no added sugar then]

Banana chips – must remember that one. Don’t think I’ve seen them here.
Oh golly, competition. I have been terrible and no help at all. So sorry.

Great idea!!!! I don’t think there is any treat or type of that Mazzie would not like, so can’t say that I’ve ever been surprised by her liking something. And so glad I didn’t wait until the last minute to send in my photo submissions!!!!

Love banana chips. My dog loves bananas and always starts begging whenever I open one up to eat myself. I am sure she’d love the dehydrated variety just as well. Thanks for the fun idea!

Max loves banana chips as kong stuffing and to play hide the treats with. We buy the unsweetened ones in bulk at the health food store.

Sampson is looking like he likes that treat! We have boring treats around here. Mostly the same cookies over and over. Sometimes we buy a different flavor. πŸ™‚

Hey Sampson, Hey Delilah, Jet here. Hi Miss Jodi.

Uh… Miss Jodi? Besides sharing a great idea… Mom asked me to share that she likes this treat, too! πŸ™‚

BTW, we had some “life stuff” come up, so, we cannot get our act together to submit… πŸ™

We will vote and participate in the other ways, sorry.
