For those new to the blog, my follow-up Friday provides me with an opportunity to update or revise a post from the previous week.
You know sometimes you post about something and you need an update but it doesn’t warrant a whole blog. Or sometimes someone made a comment that really resonated with you. Yup, Follow-Up Friday baby!
Not THAT Kind Of Dog – Author’s Note
In the comments Donna and the Dogs Toby noted If a dog runs up in Delilah’s face, then she’s got every right to nip it.
You see Toby, that’s how it works in the dog world, but the peoples, the peoples just don’t understand dogese. They get a little freaked out when one dog nips at another dog.
What we need is a translator, someone who can teach the peoples what they really need to know about dogs. Maybe in between writing your blogs, you could teach us? 😉

Many of you noted this in the comments, but damn, that dog is talented. She moved a two-pound box off a counter and at least 12 feet, but never tore the box.

This ‘N That Thursday – Author’s Note
I hooked a number of suckers A number of you said you would like to participate in the Follow-Up Friday blog hop.
I’ve already started working on this and will be doing a bit more research over the weekend. From the comment that Jetty left me, I found out there is more than one linky tool. Can any of you that use a linky tool tell me if there is one that is better or easier than the other? Do any of them work with the free wordpress account?
I hope to have some more information for you next week. For those of you with the free wordpress account, don’t worry, you can still co-host, simply put a link in your post that says get your code here and list this website. I did that myself when I had the free account.
If all goes well perhaps we can hop as early as next week.
Kristine noted all the leaves already on the ground in the pictures I posted yesterday, while there are a few from this current season, most of those leaves that are on the ground are from the storm we had in October.
You may have also noticed that some of the trees look pretty scarce in the leaf department, there were a lot of damaged trees in that storm and a lot of them didn’t recover this season.
There are still so many dead limbs just hanging up around here, every time we have some wind, or a rain storm more limbs/trees come down.
The background in this picture is blurry, but I think you can still make out the huge tree limb on the side of the trail.

That about wraps up our week, we’re weekend bound. Any big plans coming up or any news you’d like to share?
Gosh I hope you don’t get knocked on the noggin walking those trails on a windy day.
I could be wrong, but I think the issue with the free WP accounts and the linky tools are the formatting which is not allowed on free WP. (Javascript I think) Maybe there is another type that doesn’t use that and is allowed. I researched it once a while ago and couldn’t find one, but maybe something has changed.

A translator device of sorts would definitely be helpful for all you peoples. Us dogs though, we understand YOU more than you imagine. 😉

Good to know that autumn hasn’t arrived too early, then. I will keep on believing it is still summer for a little while!
I don’t think any linky tools work with the free WordPress platform as WordPress doesn’t allow for scripts as they believe it is a security risk, which it probably is. I could be wrong but that is one of the (few) downsides of WordPress, unfortunately. Of course, there are ways around that, as you pointed out.
Very exciting and ambitious of you to embark on a blog hop adventure. I have no idea how to use them and don’t feel brave enough to try…but maybe you’ll inspire me!
Your post of Delilah’s carry reminded me of a story I read about a border collie who got a chicken out of the fridge. She took it into the living room, ate the chicken, and put the lid back on, all without getting any grease on the carpet (or, more likely, licking it all up). If you can get Delilah to do that, I want to see it. 🙂

Be careful when walking those trails that one of those limbs don’t come down on some heads.
I was not surprised at all with Delilahs ability to move that candle unscathed, she is a retriever and they are required to retrieve with no damage to the goods, lol
