Follow-Up Friday

June 8, 2012 By Jodi

For those new to the blog, my follow-up Friday provides me with an opportunity to update or revise a post from the previous week.

You know sometimes you post about something and you need an update but it doesn’t warrant a whole blog.  Or sometimes someone made a comment that really resonated with you.  Yup, Follow-Up Friday baby!

Holy Smack Down Batman – Update

Hubby’s scratch has healed and Sampson doesn’t seem to have been traumatized by the falling tree.  I think Hubby and I learned a valuable lesson about neither of the dogs riding in the jeep without benefit of doors.

Thankfully, it wasn’t any worse than it was.

Pitty Post Day – Author’s Note

We all know Pit Bulls get a bad rap.  I think the only way to combat this is education.  Any dog can bite.  Proper education in training a dog and educating people on how to treat dogs will go a LONG way to reducing dog bites.

I came across this blog post  about preventing dog bites, and I put the link on my facebook page, it’s written by an animal control officer.

I wonder how many dogs she’s shot?   Whoops, that should have gone under WTF Wednesday. 🙂

Indulge Me – Author’s Note

It was so exciting for me that so many of you wrote in with ways you indulge your pups, it warms the cockles of my heart.  (Does anyone know what the cockles of your heart actually are?)

WTF/Whoo Hoo Wednesday – Author’s Note

I’m on the fence about this feature.  While it did (according to WP statistics) have the most views this week, it typically does not get a lot of comments.

I am seeing some new names in the comments, but I’m not seeing some old names.  Does that make sense?

While I agree with all of you who said, it’s my blog and I should write what I want, my goal is to become a published writer.  That won’t happen if I’m turning people off.

What to do, what to do.

Another Year Gone By – Author’s Note

Here’s the dilly with this one, I started writing the ‘author’s note’ and realized it really was a whole new blog post.  So look for Another Year Gone By – Part 2 tomorrow.

I really am working on a new command with Delilah and I really do want to share it, but something else seems to keep popping up!

That’s it for Follow-Up Friday! We hope you had a great week!

Let me say this… In one of the BEST Writing Classes I EVER took… we were told about 87,000 times…. a GOOD writer MUST WRITE for Him/Herself FIRST… one can NOT second guess what readers will be drawn to. AND… a GOOD writer MUST put words on paper that cause the reader to EMOTE. Put those two things together and you can not help but be a successful writer. I’m just sayin.

I don’t think your wednesday’s post turn off people, only my personal opinion, I really like the way you write, find it engaging and really smooth, easy to read. Regarding the comments, sometimes one reads something and is either on a rush and just click “like” or simple doesn’t find the words to say something interesting or just don’t know if the comment will add up to the post, or just don’t wanna repeat what the person before said(that happens to me a lot lol). I’m new in here, but I really like it, if only WP would update my reader properly…

I am a huge fan of the way that you write and that is why I am drawn to your blog. You obviously are doing something right if you are gaining new followers. Keep trucking along, it’s only a matter of time.

I have no idea what cockle is or what it does, but now it is going to be the word of the day:)))
    Have a great weekend!

I always seem to be a day late with my comments these days. Maybe others are just busy too? Anyway I can’t wait to hear about the new command you are teaching Delilah.

Tall person’s grandmother often used the phrase ” warms the cockles of your heart* – it is lovely 🙂
