Summoning Charms

March 22, 2012 By Jodi

I’ve said this before, if you hang around someone’s blog long enough you learn things about them. πŸ™‚

I’m a big fantasy fiction buff and one of my favorite reads is Harry Potter.

For years my graduation robe has been worn to every single Harry Potter movie, the night it was released.Β  Before the first half of the Deathly Hallows was released I spent hours making my Phi Theta Kappa honors sash that I wore at graduation into a Gryffindor’s scarf.

Two Christmas’ ago I actually got a wand, but it must have been defective because it won’t do magic. πŸ™

Quite frankly I’m really disappointed that I turned out to be a Muggle or am I a Squib?

I’m not really too sure.

There is someone in our household however who has gotten the “Summoning” charm down to a science.

Oh and it works.Β  He has summoned women from clear across the pet store to rush to his side to pet him.Β  Once he has summoned them, that’s when he really turns on the charm.

Yes, he smiles at him.

(Yes, I found my camera!)

We make a Harry Potter sleepover every summer. My Dearest Friend’s dog Blackie plays the role of the Grim. You are SO invited to the next one! And so are the dogs! (Yes, even the crazy one πŸ™‚ )

That’s very cool!!! Do you call Blackie “Sirious” or do you call him the grim? I want to go!!

I was quite impressed that you could rattle off all the characters that J.K. with her ruthless mind killed off in the series.

Only because I’ve read the book at least five times and it made a very lasting impression! Thanks Jan. **giggle**

We are HP obsessed at our house and often stage theme parties to rewatch the movies. (Yes, we are dorks.) So that scarf…rocks my world. As does Smpson and his adorable “rooing”. I β™₯ him.

Fred does it too? I’ve never heard another dog do it. Delilah tries but she hasn’t mastered it.

I’ve never seen TRUE BLOOD. Is it HBO?

So cute! I don’t know who could resist a summons like that! Just the sight of your two beautiful dogs with their heads peaking out the back of your car would have me oohing and awwing. Sampson is a charmer, there is no doubt!

Will you still be my friend if I tell you I have never seen a single Harry Potter movie? If not, please pretend I didn’t say anything. πŸ˜›

Of course you’re still my friend!! It’s not for everyone you know. I think the movies were enhanced because I’d read the books. I just fell in love with the whole good vs evil. πŸ™‚

@2BrownDawgs, you aren’t the first person I’ve heard say that. πŸ™‚

Good God, what a smile! I’m with you on the fantasy fiction, though after Lord of the Rings I was so smitten with all the characters that I didn’t want to read anything else. I still haven’t moved on πŸ™‚

    • Jodi Stone says

      March 23, 2012 at 9:35 pm

That is a tough one. If I have to choose between HP or LOTR I don’t know which one I’d choose. No, I would choose LOTR. I can watch them over and over. In fact, I wanted to name Sampson “Aragorn” but Hubby said no, so that’s his middle name instead. πŸ™‚
