I Got Nothin'…Day Three Hundred, Five

October 1, 2011 By Jodi

I have a sinus infection and am feeling a bit under the weather (whatever the hell that means.) This morning my teeth hurt so bad I told Hubby it wouldn’t surprise me if some of them fell out. 😉

I woke up at 6:20 am and couldn’t fall back to sleep; I had a busy day ahead of me so I got up.  I was on the road by 7:30 in order to get my three-week supply of dog food.

After picking up the food, I brought it home and Hubby made me an omelet before I headed over to watch my grandchildren while mom and dad went to a wedding.

I left their house and headed over to the grocery store where I did a weeks worth of shopping for me and mom.  Hubby had dinner ready when I got home and after putting the groceries away and eating dinner I still had to portion out the dog’s food and empty the cat box.

A few months ago when I picked up necks Sandy said, “I forgot to tell you, every once in a while you get a head in there.”

“Oh my God!” “What do you do?” I asked.  (Now I’m not really sure why I asked that, but I did.)

“Close your eyes and give it to them” was her response.

Ever since that day I have dreaded doing the necks because I knew sooner or later I was going to find a head in there.  Sure enough, the day when I’m feeling pretty gross is the day I find, not one but two heads…still attached to the necks.  I couldn’t give them to the dogs, so I threw them out.

Yeah, pretty gross.

Oh and I missed the Saturday morning hop. 🙁

Sorry you’re not feeling well. I woke up sick eight days ago and it’s showing no sign of letting up. I sure hope yours doesn’t hang on that long.

There is no way I’d give my dog a chicken head. That’s disgusting! I’m really glad to hear you threw them out. Ewwww.

I’m sorry you aren’t feeling better; it kind of comes and goes. Of course the antibiotic should be helping this along and I hope to feel better within the next day or so. Have you seen the Dr. for it? Perhaps you need an antibiotic or something to help send it on its merry way~

About the chicken heads…..when I saw the first one, it briefly crossed my mind, but when the 2nd one showed up I thought *I’ve got two dogs and two heads* and then I looked at the beak and said, “I can’t” You are so right. Ewwwww.

LOL! The finding of chicken heads and sinus infections should not be allowed to happen on the same day. A person can only take so much! Hope you get out from under that weather soon. 🙂

Your mom is a much braver woman than I am Frankie! The bones of cooked chicken are very BAD for you, it’s good that your mom doesn’t give them to you!

I’d only have to see the head nce, and I’d either stop buying them, or give the job to my husband!! 🙂

I do hope you’re feeling better. I can’t remember if I’ve told you or not, but I work in a dental office, and we get a lot of patients this time of year with terrible toothaches that come in, only to find out it’s not their teeth but their sinuses that are the problem. Take care of yourself!!

      October 3, 2011 at 8:36 am

Thanks Kim, I knew you worked at a dental office because of the post where you took Todd to work. 🙂 I could tell it was sinus because the entire top of my mouth hurt, normally when I have a tooth ache it is slightly more isolated. I imagine people who don’t get a lot of sinus infections or tooth aches could make that mistake. I am unfortunately not one of them, being very well acquainted with both.:-(

Hope you feel better soon. I know a great home remedy for sinus infections but it involves raw chicken heads…

    Just kidding.

As someone who LIVES with sinus issues – make sure you get a netti pot and make sure you use it properly. It WILL help. 🙁

One word for the chicken heads . . . EWE

    Ok, two words . . . GROSS

I SO could not deal with that. You are a BRAVE woman!!!!!

I hope you feel better soon. Hot tea, dare I say chicken broth (and I happen to believe the necks make the BEST broth . . . really), lots of fluids AND REST!!!!!!!

Thanks Laura! I do have a netti pot but now they are saying only use distilled water in it and I can’t figure out how that works because if the water isn’t warm enough it burns my nose. 🙁

Oh, hope you’re feeling better soon… sounds horrible.

On a lighter, and far more revolting, note we used to have to feed the little crocodiles chicken heads (and necks). Depending on the size of the crocs they were fed either whole or minced heads… Now, the thing about mincing chicken heads through the mincer that we had is that the eyeballs don’t actually get ground up, so we’d end up with a tub of ‘soup’ with eyeballs staring up out of it. Ewwwwww. I occasionally find a chicken head in the garden and am sure that it’s one that’s been picked up from the croc supplies by a brave kite who has then dropped it as it’s flown over my place!

Not sure if that will make you feel better or worse….

    Sending healthy vibes,
    H and Flo

That is even grosser than finding a chicken head!!! Why in the world are you feeding crocodiles?????

You are definitely braver than I am.

I am feeling better, thank you for the vibes.

Exactly, I just couldn’t bear it, it was bad enough my eyes kept being drawn to it; never mind handing it to my babies!!
