Tomorrow IS A New Day….Day Two Hundred, Ninety Four

September 20, 2011 By Jodi

Today was a much better day.

I didn’t have such a stressful morning, the dogs went to The Mellow Mutt for daycare and I did not yell at Delilah.

Most days I can handle the intensity that is Delilah; some days it really wears on me.  Delilah has a zest for life, like I have never seen before.  She doesn’t just grab life by the horns, she runs full speed at it and enjoys every minute of it.  And the rest of us are just along for the ride.

As frustrating as she can be at times, she really is a sweet girl.  Every morning when I am getting ready for work she waits until I get the hair spray out then she comes into the bathroom and pushes her head through my legs waiting for me to pet her.  She is very persistent.  If I haven’t given her enough attention or I’m in a hurry and try to disengage her, she walks with me.  It is difficult to unwrap myself from her.  This morning she just sat there watching me, she was so cute I had no choice but to bend down and kiss her.

So many of you left suggestions, and comments yesterday and I want you to know how grateful I am for the support.  I cannot tell you how much it means to me; to know that there are others out there who understand what you are going through.

It helps. It really does.

She really is sweet.

Aww what a beautiful sweet girl!

As for the wrapping herself in your legs and following you closely, I call that the “velcro dog” mine are like that constantly 🙂

Is that what you call it? It’s like she has eyes all over, everywhere I go, she goes too!

    Who had a little Currrrrl,
Right in the middle of her forehead.
    When she was GOOOOOOD,
    She was VERY Good.
    When she was BAD,
    She was Horrid. hehehe

Awwww, glad to hear today was a better day! Sometimes I’d like to send Koly anywhere but here, but at the end of the day, we couldn’t live without them , could we?

haha – definitely velcro dog! Gwynn tries to be like a cat and twine around my legs, when he’s really excited/happy to see me. This would work a bit better if he were smaller 😛 But it’s cute in the end, so I deal with the strange monster-walk that it results in. happy to hear that delilah is back to her sweet self 🙂

It can be frustrating at times, when I am wearing white or biege pants and her dirty just in from digging outside nose smears itself. Other times I find it endearing.

Yes it would be easier to do the monster walk if they were a wee bit smaller.

I am glad things are going better for you! Delilah is such a beautiful dog. Thanks for sharing pictures of her. I agree with you that “we couldn’t live without them!” We should consider ourselves lucky that we are made this way ~ to take care of animals.

Hi, Jodi! I just read your post from yesterday, I’m so sorry you were feeling so frustrated. I can definitely relate, there have been plenty of days I’ve felt like a failure with Clancy. I’m so glad you are feeling better today!

Delilah is a beautiful girl, and I loved reading about her morning routine. Cute! 🙂

Thanks Julie! She can be very frustrating but then the love and laughter I get from her make it all worth while!

    Hi Y’all,

I love to drive my Humans to the limits! When they are totally exasperated, I hang my head and do whatever it is I’m supposed to do…usually it has to do with yapping non-stop…Then I’m so good and I’ll overhear Papa say to Momma, “he’s really a good dog, he just gets SO EXCITED! Like a little boy.”

    Y’all come by now,
    Hawk aka BrownDog

I can never understand why ya’ll put us through this. We love you guys so much and just want what is best for you.

      Thanks for stopping by!
