The Dog Days Of August…Day Two Hundred, Forty Four

August 1, 2011 By Jodi

The nicest thing about being on vacation in the really hot days of August, is I get to take the dogs for an early walk while the morning is still semi-cool; then I have the afternoon and evening to myself. 🙂

The weatherman said it was going to be hot and humid this afternoon, with some weather moving in.  We hit the trail about 8:30 and walked for about 40 minutes.  The little streams in the area have dried up so there is nowhere to cool off.  As soon as we got home Sampson headed for the pool.

It's a giant water bowl, but I can lie in it too!

My plans for the afternoon including tackling my scrapbooking stuff, so I brought everything I could find into the room and began the sorting out process.  After a couple of trips to the Christmas Tree Shoppe, I felt I had the weapons needed to tackle the project.

Someone was so happy to have his mom home and wanted to be where I was, that I had to clear a spot on the futon for him.

Most of the stuff you see here has now been put away, but I still have a bit to do.  I hope to finish it off tomorrow. 🙂

Ah the dog days of August….

Have a wonderful vacation! I wish it was time for my week off – I am very jealous. But hopefully the weather will be just as warm here when my vacation does roll around.

Thank you Kristine, it will mostly be spent working around the house.

Ahhhhhhh, Jodi say hey to S & D for me! I’m glad you can walk in the morning. At this time of year my human won’t venture out until around nine. The mosquitoes and sand fleas are ferocious! And the canal is much fun to swim in – the temperature 88 degrees – its like bath water.
Hmmm the scrap book thing is fun – my human keeps one and is one.

Oh Sandy, if you were closer I would love to take you walking with us. We normally don’t get out until late afternoon/early evening but vacation does have its privileges. 🙂 Be careful in the canal, there may be some unsavory creatures in there!
