W. T. F./Whoo Hoo Wednesday

September 5, 2012 By Jodi

Please note this post is not meant to make light of the deeds described here, only to make fun of, ridicule, bully and just plain beat the shit out of the idiots who commit these stupid acts.

I’m chock full of WTF this week.

It’s Time To Ban Pit Bulls In B.C.- B.C.

Another region calling for  BSL.  Naturally they choose a picture of a pit bull that looks about ready to attack for the editorial.   The dog could be reacting to a freakin bear, but that wouldn’t make a difference to these ignorant fear mongers.

When are people going to stop focusing on the dogs and start focusing on the people who abuse and exploit them?

Maybe when they come for their cocker spaniel, because all other breeds have already been banned?

Rogers County Dog Dragged To Death – Winganon, OK

How do you even write about something this horrific?

The sheriff’s office has completed their investigation and apparently has been approached by someone and they now have a person of interest.  The case has been turned over to the District Attorney’s Office.

I hope they find this person and fast, before anymore dogs get hurt.  I’m thinking a bully beat down is just too damn humane for the asshole that did this.  I vote for tying them up by their feet and dragging them behind a truck, oh and then shooting them for good measure.

PETA

PETA’s reached a new low lately.  This photo was posted on facebook and apparently is in response to a No-Kill Shelter’s statement that they would have to start euthanasia due to severe over-crowding.

You can read the entire article here.

I’ve never been a big fan of PETA myself, in fact just recently I received a donation form from them.  It was a questionnaire and I had it almost completely filled out until I realized it was from PETA.  I actually wrote a line stating I would love to donate money for that particular cause, but certainly not to them.  I then asked them to remove my name from their mailing list (I’m still not sure where they got it) and actually put a stamp on it and sent it.

I’m going on record to suggest they change their acronym to People for the Euthanasia/Termination of Animals.

Hey PETA, YOU SUCK.

Seriously, how can people make a difference when assholes like this are continually undermining efforts?

Whoo Hoo

Dog missing after fatal Montana crash found, Missoula, MT

Quite truthfully I never heard this story until 2 Brown Dawgs posted on facebook that she had been found.  Apparently she had escaped the vehicle after it was hit by a drunk driver, and had been on the run for 26 days, before finally being captured by a local woman.

Bella, while a bit on the thin side appears to be in good health otherwise, she will be reunited with her family soon.

And finally, since I’m a little light on the Whoo Hoo section, I thought I’d leave you with this.

OK so who lets their bitch that just delivered pups out of their sight? People watch your dogs. There are nuts out there.

PETA–well most people know how I feel about them and HSUS. Shameful and they get so much financial support.

I have been following Bella’s story from the beginning. Checking up each day to see that she had been spotted but was far too fearful to be captured. I was overjoyed to see that a group of strangers came together to rescue her and that Bella’s family did not have to endure yet another loss (the family lost an 8 year old son/brother in the crash). Happy endings can happen.

I hadn’t heard that story about PETA. Boy, they sure keep putting their foot in their mouth. Hopefully more and more people will see that they are no good.

Unbelievable story out of Oklahoma. I cry for the state of humanity.

I agree who lets their dog out of sight when she has pups to rear and I won’t even go in to the fact she was only a year and a half with puppies as you say Jodi WTF. I think the scum who did this should be punished to the fullest extent of the law but I can not hold the owners blameless.

Ah yes good ol PETA, I received that same survey with their free mailing labels which were all promptly deposited in the garbage. Maybe they should stop spending money on such mailings and use their resources for the good of animals to help place them in good homes instead of euthanizing 99% of them. I have no regard or respect for them or HSUS and I hope America wakes up soon!

You really hit the nail on the head with your comment about BLS and when will it stop, I have been saying the same thing for a long time.

    Good post!!

    Hi Jodi,

So many sad tales – I think it unbelievable that in a modern ‘caring’ world it’s still considered ok to kill animals – I have my paws crossed for change….

    Wags to all,

    Your pal Snoopy 🙂

Ah, BSL and PETA, my two least favourite acronyms. I heard about the BC thing and just couldn’t find any words so I tried to put it out of my mind for the moment. One would think they’d look at Ontario and see what a mistake it is but clearly that’s not the case. I have hope nothing will actually pass. Maybe there is something we bloggers can do?

PETA is another story. I have started and stopped so many posts about them begun in a rage but I never end up finishing. They just aren’t worth it. What I hate the most is how the destroy most of the animal welfare community’s credibility.

Love that PETA has money devoted to gift baskets and snarky correspondence …. I’m sure those efforts really help with overcrowding in shelters. That being said, I’m not surprised given their ridiculous stance on a lot of issues.

I know a lot of vegetarian/hippy/environmentalist types, and to a person they say, “We wish PETA would get off our side. They make us look like wackos” (Most of them think the same thing about Greenpeace.)

I think it is time we banned those coconuts. And peanuts too. They are even more deadly, or so I hear…

It bothers me that so many people think PETA is just a bunch of harmless flakes. They actually do a lot of harm to people who work hard for the welfare of animals. Glad you let them know what you think.

    I love the coconut comparison!
